I think it would be best to isolate Tehran and destroy their power and bridges first. Saving other cities for later. This would contain the refugees to Iran as other nearby cities would absorb them. It would also give the Iranian resistance the opportunity to push against the government in the dark. If that doesn’t work, kill their water treatment plants and fresh water. We should also be dropping weapons including sniper rifles with thermal sites and extra batteries, radios, maps, target lists and medical supplies to areas with resistance fighter groups.

Look US&Co begun attacking fuel infrastructure first. If you take out their energy grid then the strait will be fully closed again and they will escalate their strikes too possibly hitting desalination plants among other things.
Why wouldn't they be impudent when Rubio told them that USA will just give up in 2-3 weeks? What's the point of leaking to your enemies that you are unable or unwilling to pursue a campaign for much longer? Or doing a reverse bluff if its not true?

Destroying their energy infrastructure isn't necessarily going to make them blame their government and if you want regime change well CIA exists.

A nuclear Iran was stopped. The US risked doing this since the world doesn’t have the capability or the will. Now they are like a backward country with no Navy, no Air Force and diminished in every military way. Their proxies have been reduced as well, including Hamas which was torn to pieces. But you want cheaper gas and are willing to do nothing about it.

Trump can put in place laws to protect domestic consumption of oil and the prices to protect the US if needed. I drive a Tesla EV and haven’t noticed any change. I do see the prices higher but that isn’t much a month compared to a nuke going off in a major cities and then all hell breaking lose with retaliation.

How does any of this affect the petrodollar? And what are you ideas to make things better?

Firstly the diplomatic option has not been exhausted like most recently Iraqi oil got green light. Moreover USA refused the offer of euro ships to ME for US weapons to Ukraine.

You can tell that the Iranians are not crazy by the fact that they appeared to be winning rather easily and unexpectedly. Remember that part of the US propaganda is how wonderfully lethal our weapons are because they cost a zillion dollars in taxpayer money.
