This is about USA purging generals, not Russia...

I don't claim to know enough about it to know. There has always been a turnover of generals. As with everything else about Trump, it gets a lot more publicity when he does it.

It's a weird situation. There is freedom of speech. But in the military does that give them the right to publicly speak out against the Commander in Chief? I think not. Even in the private sector, doing a lot of bad mouthing against your boss can get you fired. In the military it makes sense that that would be even more true.

Also, I know at least one of those recent firings was already in trouble during Biden. He had become too outspoken when he had a job to NOT be outspoken. Any officer at that level knows that damn well. They'd never make it to that level without understanding that.

If trust Hegseth had his reasons. We won't get an explanation. Congress may "react" but with the exceptions of new confirmations, funding and war declaration, Congress has no authority over the military. Only the executive branch does. And Trump was likely consulted.
