@loveslongnails gas was a lot more expensive when Biden was president ant it was caused by his silly electric car agenda. I just paid 3..79 an hour ago. I filled up my 35 gallon pickup truck for a little less than a hundred bucks. I was usually paying 60s a month ago. It has gone up about a buck a gallon. With Biden it jumped from 1.99 to over 5 bucks in a few weeks.

I look at what is happening instead of Trump hating so called journalists. If the price is down I know that what Trump is doing is working. When I see mortgage rates go down and job creation is up it says things are working. The economy is complex and does not work on a timetable. That is why there is leading and lagging indicators. You have to look at trends and not a snapshot of gas going up a dollar a gallon because of uncertainty caused by Iran blocking Hormuz.
America is producing more oil than any other time in history. We do not have enough refineries to handle it all. The excess is sold to foreign countries and since the price of crude is almost 90 bucks a barrel the US oil companies are making a bundle.

Mortgage rates go up or down for many reasons, and if they go down, it doesn't mean Trump is doing a damn thing right. They've dipped slightly now because not enough people can afford to buy a home. Why? Prices are stupidly high, except in some areas where the markets are flooded. But that's a different issue.

So lower interests don't mean more buyers NOW unless home prices also come way down. The rate would have to drop 2 full percentage points for that to have any real immediate effect, and then you have to protect against bad underwriting, and those are the protections that Trump gutted.

President Trump is trying to force Fed Chairman to lower rates, They have been lowered somewhat but not enough to suit President Trump. Powell will be replaced next month and rates should drop soon after that
