Houses are for sale everywhere! Does today’s housing market feel like 2008–2009 again where you live too?

How many houses are for sale on your street , about nearby streets and is it looking like 2009 again?
Man 3 to 6 houses for sale on streets here and some you can tell were just lost by owner. Looks like 2008 and 2009 here. Are we heading for another 2008 crisis? If houses crash , will you buy a house or two? Will best that lose their house again try to ever buy another house?

There is 1 house within 8 square miles of me for sale and I know someone that would buy it if she could convince her husband. Currently they live about 2 hours away and he has 3 rental properties that would be too much to manage if they move. He would like to move but it might be a couple of more years before he sorts out his affairs. By then the house will be gone. Aside from that 5 new houses have been built in my neighborhood due to high demand and not enough supply. I regularly get offers for my land/house but refuse to sell. But I live in Florida. People actually want to move here because we are doing things right, unlike California.

If I zoom out to 200 square miles there are 10 houses for sale. A typical neighborhood is 1 to 4 square miles. Do the math.

That is in a metro of 2 million people with an international airport, a major interstate highway and a second tolled highway, and high speed rail that is an hour away from another metro of 7 million people and a second major metro of 5 million people with some of the best beaches less than 10 minutes away.

Those 5 new houses in my neighborhood aren't spec houses either. Those are custom homes built for people that want to live here. When they are finished people will live in them on day 1. If I drive 8 miles north there is a massive real estate boom. Thousands of new houses are being built and they are being sold just as fast and commercial real estate is matching the pace. A lot of new business is entering the area.

So while your market is shitting the bed due to bad governance, within 10 miles of me current projects that are approved and underway (broken ground) in my area will bring

8,421 new single family homes
1,171 new town homes
5,027 new multi-family homes
4,089,800 sqft of Retail, Research, and Office Space
890 Hotel rooms (including a luxury resort)
1,200 student education campus
350 bed hospital
multiple entertainment venues

and that is only maybe a 1/3 of the projects that are awaiting approval... People can't move in fast enough.

There was one house on my street that has been sold twice in the last two years. There may be one or two in my neighborhood in recent memory. I live in a very stable area where there is not much turnover. Most of the time if a house goes on the market it is because the owner has died. In a couple of instances the owner died and one of the kids ended up wiht the house.

I am putting my summer house on the market and in the entire neighborhood there are currently 6 properties for sale counting mine.

I haven't seen a single house up for sale around me but I live in a gated community where people have money so its possible they aren't being hit by this down turn and may even be the ones buying up property.

It's not something I follow very close, but I don't seem to see many homes at all for sale around my area which may be due to the fact insurance has become a big stickler!

It means economy doesn't work proper in particular area and real estate owner can't rent their homes, flats, apartments. This leads they want to sell them.
