We did make the right decision. And guess what, I voted to remain! Now I realise how stupid I was at the time. It is curious, because most people have changed their minds from what they originally chose - one way or the other.

But as always, this is about framing. According to the leftist, the UK was destroyed through leaving the EU, the war in Ukraine and Liz Truss' budget.

Obviously, reality is more nuanced than that. While leaving the EU may have done economic damage, this country has been woefully mismanaged.

We have mass-migration and the resulting wage suppression and pressure on housing/services (mass migration is great for big business and corporations, ironically). We have a big drive towards net zero, which is destroying our industry. We have the most expensive business energy in the developed world. We have basically outsourced all of the dirty parts of the production chain to the third world. And then due to an accounting trick, we can say we have made great inroads in reducing carbon. Obvious hogwash, those countries have lower environmental standards than ours, and then it has to be transported which takes, you guessed it, carbon. If there is a viable green economy, then it should not require, and continue to require, vast subsidies. This is not a joke, people are being made poor and shivering in their homes through this idiotic ideological nonsense.

Spain has just given residency to 500k, thought to be more likely 850k+ asylum seekers. I'm presuming these people now get free movement across the EU? Most of the inflation in the UK, and the resulting damage to the economy, happened during convid. The pandemic that never was. During that time, our national debt skyrocketed to almost 100% of GDP, giving no room for manoeuvre, no means of stimulating the economy fiscally. In that year inflation, on housing at least, in my observations, rose by about 40%, and stayed. Was this down to leaving the EU? Was it fuck. The government purposely inflated its currency, and completely fucked its population over.

Economies need cheap energy and to de-regulate to grow. It's economics 101. Why would someone invest here when most of it gets thefted in tax, and regulation is so stifling.

The problems we are facing in the past 30 years are the affects of globalisation. The aim to to destroy national indentity, through mass migration, supranational bodies with no accountability hold the power.

White British is now the minority in the three biggest UK cities. These are insane changes in the space of a generation.

When it happened I was just arriving in Europe so I don’t have too much of an opinion on it since it was slightly before my time

I know they had valid reasons

But I don’t see the overall advantage of leaving group.
The EU has kept Europe from going into another major war with itself by building economic and logistical bridges

If the problem was that too many people were leaving the UK then the solution should be a better internal quality of life

Europe’s main problem remains too much “neo-socialisme”
Where the working men and women pay a fortune in taxes and get nothing in return for them.

It was a ridiculous choice made by people who get their facts from facebook. When every economic expert in the world tells you it's a dumb idea why did we listen to flagshaggers who saw it as nothing more than a step towards removing brown people.

No one clamored to beg for deals with us, immigration levels actually shot up afterwards, prices in shops sky rocketed, we still have to follow eu rules to trade but now have no say.

No, I think the UK chose the path to the past when they voted for Brexit. I think there is a world ahead that will be Pan American, Pan Asian, Pan European, and Pan African. And the UK will be a small collection of small islands hanging onto their history and an irrelevant monarchy.

If the UK was banking on a tight relationship with the US as one of two superpowers, how's that decision looking in the rearview mirror? The US has revealed itself as a schizophrenic nation in decline that can't be trusted.

Obviously not, as the cold, hard economical facts show! The Britons fell for their local version of Trump, BoJo the Clown. Remember his silly red bus, claiming that with the money sent to the EU they would fix the NHS and how they would get this amazing trade deal with the Americans? Now that they are out, they don't have enough Polish lorry drivers to fill their grocery stores and gas stations, the NHS is in worse shape than ever and the amazing American trade deal never happened (duh!). Caveat emptor!

Absolutely - the EU is structurally designed to fail and destroy the countries involved. The EU may not exist in 5 years, and if it does, those countries who remain members will be beyond screwed.

That doesn't change the fact that the UK has been horribly led for 40+ years and have systematically made decisions designed to destroy the country to please the One World people in Davos. But things COULD be fixed IF the population demands major changes. We'll see what happens.

The problem is we left and that was the right choice however our Government especially Labour likes to keep following Eu rules even though we left for the exact reason not to...
So it's changed nothing despite it should've. If our government actually went no it's our country we'll do what we want then it'd be great, though not with starmer in I suppose it's probably a good thing he sucks up to Eu so much cause he can't do anything right.

let's not forget... that a lot of people in the UK voted yes to Brexit... because they really thought they were voting to "exit" immigrants out of the UK, lol...

I think it was a good decision, both at the time it was made and with the information available. Unfortunately, circumstances have changed and certain information was being withheld that MIGHT have changed things a little bit.

sort of. in e. u. commitment needs to accept refugees but by leaving don't need. but then they took in refugees and non-refugees so lost the benefits. and lose paying tarrifs TO the E. U.
