What has the Supreme Court actually done to the Voting Rights Act?

Right under our noses, the Supreme Court has finally taken away the voting representation of 26 Million Blacks who live in the south today. What exactly are they thinking?

It matters to people living in districts in Louisiana and other states in the south, when redistricting was done to make sure these blacks are not being represented. In other words, they are gone.

they are not invisible either, they are not less deserving of any rights Democrats have there

so, as I said... this is nothing new, people accept this as legal and perpetuate this system

Gerrymandering should be outlawed. It always is meant to unfairly favor one party over the other, and this is a perfect example of how Republicans are unfair. It figures.

Gerrymandering is done by BOTH PARTIES ALIKE... and both sides are unfair and neutralize/eliminate people's choice and representation

- Illinois... heavy Democratic suppression of votes from any Republican

- Maryland... the most shameless gerrymandering perhaps, by Democrats, to again... erase Republican representation

-New Yok... more of the same, even the courts told Democrats it was not constitutional, the Democrats fought against the courts to continue to eliminate Republican voters' fair and lawful representation

-Nevada, Massachusetts, now California... and more, and so on

now, I do understand that for people who have a clear leaning to either side of the political spectrum... it is preferred to only focus and see when the other side does it wrong, and to keep quiet when their own side does it

but I don't have any political side... when I say BOTH are doing wrong... it's merely because of the fact that BOTH SIDES, Republicans and Democrats are doing it wrong the same... and they also do it against the same people, ALL OF US people... regardless of "color" blue or red

Those are all Democratic states that you mentioned. At least, they have not tried to ban any group from representation. This is what the Republicans have done in Louisiana, and have done in Georgia as well. They are going back to the days of Jim Crow, when Blacks had no representation at all. You can't compare that to gerrymandering in general. It is unfair to both parties--but this is taking away the districts that represent Black voters and making it seem as if no Blacks lived there.

The Supreme Court ruled against redistricting a state according to a person's race. This does not effect a person's right to vote. It jusr makes it harder to democrats to win.
