Why do we often get criticized or attacked when we don't agree with the majority?

When we listen to the song that the majority listens to, then the minority starts bullying.

For example, there's an artist x who's very well-known and everyone listens to them, but I don't like them and I don't listen to them, and then I get criticized for it.

Or vice versa, when you listen to a singer that everyone else listens to, the minority who don't listen to them start lynching them.

Peer pressure is often used to suppress independent minds. When you know this psycho manipulation mechanic you can pretend to follow hive mind of the group but doing your own thing.
Deception of people who want to control you is justified, Honorable fights under real banner deserve only honorable opponents, otherwise backstab them if you just can.

I’ve been in that situation where I voice personal criticisms of a particular artist who is popular and well liked, but those who like are upset with me. Everyone has personal tastes, I personally don’t like pop music or country music (which is pop music disguised in a country flare to appear less mainstream and niche).

All I can say is, enjoy what you enjoy and try not to let the voices against or for it get to you. But also can we just chill and be a bit more respectful, listen to what makes you happiest.

People follow to easily. I despise a lot of the so called music of my generation. I hated their style , hated their filthy drug use but there are still people alive today defending them. It is kind of funny though. The same people that loved that music and the movies and TV shows that glorified the drug swilling life died very young. A bunch of them lived in a neighborhood that I lived in for a while. They were mostly all gone when I moved in. But they didn't move away. They all became junkies just like their idols. The drugs killed them all. A lot of them died of hepatitis that tore through them like wild fire from sharing needles and just being dirty people. I remember those goofy ass kids drawing band logos thinking they were something. Now they're in the ground. Another thing is all the dum looking cars and clothes they had. That stupid shit was supposed to be so cool. Now people look at it and wonder what the hell that goofy looking thing is.

Too much in today’s world if you don’t agree with someone they take offense. It’s wrong and I’m sure it can be the fault of social media. Now days people will post something on social media and they get a crap load of likes. They like the fact that so many people agree with them. But when someone disagrees it must be because they are stupid or belong to the opposite political party. Social media is training us perfectly to being anti-social in real life.

Because you're challenging others to see things differently and that instigates fear which instigates attack. It's a trigger that makes people think or call into question their beliefs and people don't like to think.
