I've been a dozen times now, and I'm not particularly fond of them, except for Quebec City people. The ones in Niagara were also nice, but I honestly don't know where the "polite Canadian" stereotype comes from. Maybe from Quebec City because, because the vast majority of Canadians I've met have been angry assholes, who hate Americans.
But in terms of culture and geography, it's more or less an extension of the U. S., except Quebec and maybe the maritime provinces. I'd like to see more of it some day, but I'm not returning anytime soon with their disdain towards Americans. Though they NEVER liked us, except Quebec City people, which is fucked up because we've always loved them. It's also more woke than the US
I've been to Canada several times, to several provinces. In many way, it's a typical North American country, modern, clean, friendly people. Ottawa government is mostly liberal, which has affected Canadians' cost of living, including devaluing the Canadian dollar.
When I was growing up, my family often visited Niagara Falls, and I remember that the Canadian dollar (CAD) was close to on par with the US dollar, (USD) maybe a few percent less. Many US stores near the border accepted Canadian pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters as if they were US coins, and it was common for US stores to give them out as change. Now, the CAD is worth 40% less than the USD.
Thanks for MHO
I'd love to go there again and escape the desert. I've mostly just been to Toronto, Niagara Falls and Vancouver and Victoria. I'd like to see Banff. I did experience the super polite Canadians you'd expect in Vancouver, not as much in Toronto. Mostly I think cold and super polite people lol
Winter is disrespectful. People are friendly and polite.

They seem just like us US citizens in almost every way with exception they are generally somewhat cheaper and really don't believe much about tipping service workers. I have a business in Florida and pretty sure half the province of Ontario comes here in the winter.😊
As an alaskan myself from the last frontier. Canada is third at everything. All the major population in Canada is the same drive to the usa border compared to the same drive to the artic circle. Yet your cold and inhospitable?
We got to negative -50 last winter in my home town.
It's a big place, the size of the U. S., with beautiful landscapes and some beautiful cities. I've never been there, though.
But I don't like its government. It is part of the British Commonwealth and Trudeau is a WEF operative. What he did during covid, especially during the trucker's strike of 2022, showed that he disdains human rights.
Canada and Australia are Commonwealth nations that have a lot in common. The major difference is that Canadians are far nicer than Australians will ever be who are far more likely to call a spade a bloody shovel.
They have a larger population and a bigger GDP but our GDP is higher on a per capita basis because we are better at digging stuff up.
Canada is a great country full of wonderful people. Some of the nicest people I've ever known are Canadians. Like any country, they have cities with issues, an economy that struggles at times, and political tensions. They have beautiful vistas, natural resources, and a vast amount of space to do it all in. The biggest problem is weather - too cold, too long for most of the country.
I honestly feel bad for Canadians. The people who live outside of Ontario and Quebec absolutely despise their government as much as I do. They don't deserve the tyranny they live under.
I sort of liked the idea of Canada being 51st state but I think we are better off taking places like Alberta or Saskatchewan. If we took all of Canada, we would just get snow commiefornia.
Canada is dying. Sorry to say but they will fail as a country. Alberta wants to separate from Canada because the controls the Canada government is ruining Alberta.
"Canada is dying" 😄! I'm pretty sure you can't even place it on a map.
Canada is nice, so long as you don't offend their woke, man-hating sensibilities. Then they hate you with every ounce of their being.
Source: I've shagged some Canadians.
Nice people and polite citizens, but a little racist in some fringe areas in the country.
I visited Canada with my girlfriend in the 1990s and I loved it. BC and Alberta were the main locations but even then I figured this could be a great place to retire to or work in.
When they are part of EU, they should build a wall with antipersonnel land mines, razor wire and autonomously killing drones on the border.
Great place nice people fewer idiots overall. But needs better weather.
cool place, cool people, hockey... big nature
let alberta vote to join u. s. union. offer referendum to each of them let people vote.
🥶🫎🍁😇🧀... plus war crimes, and angry people from Quebec who speak bad French.
Their French is actually closer to the original French. But I can't complain about people who hate it, as I can't stand people who don't speak proper Spanish.
"bad french" lol. How would you even know?
It's in bad enough shape that the US should be funding opposition parties in Canada.
Every Canadian I have met is nice and polite and USA citizens and politicians should return the favor
I’ve never been there, the few Canadians I know are cool.
I wouldn’t mind moving there. Drawback is winter though
Very left wing to a dangerous degree. Beautiful landscapes. Cold and vast. Safe version of america
The nice version of the United States. 🙂
Exactly my thinking.
Been there plenty and really enjoy Canada.
It is fading into obscurity.
They like hockey and most of them are polite.
It should be the 51st state.
We used to consider making the US the 11th province of Canada, but seeing the current state of your country, we kindly reject your application and invite you, if you wish, to submit your candidacy again at a later date; provided that major improvements were to be made.
Now I am sad. Lol
Better luck next time!
EONS BETTER THAN PRESENT-DAY AMERICA !!!
Commie cities with good rural folk
It’s the US’s little brother.
becoming a communist hell hole
I think it's a really cool country.
Too cold.
