130 or somewhere around there, not that I ever taken a proper test so its unknown but it lines up several times in other tests and makes sense.
Average people think in ways that I can tell are just average thinking, meanwhile myself sees beyond that.
I do have learning difficulties but I think they stem from my IQ being higher not less which is a thing well studied. Main example for me is dyslexia this be quite common but it can also be tied to higher IQ, despite grammar police trying to undermine those with it and put emphasis on somehow good spelling/grammar means intelligent now those people are for sure average IQ. It is a quick, cheap way to feel superior not to mention ya know Murphey's law they'll end up making same mistakes in the future or even in that exact same reply.
In maths my teachers always bugged me because I would never show my working out yet I find trying to work out in the slow boring way is pointless and actually hurts me getting the right answer. Which is a sign for higher IQ.
If my IQ somehow turned out just average somehow I'd be very puzzled because I'm anything but average.
Which is what I know I just don't think alike the average which is a blessing and curse.
It really doesn't all come down to a single number. First of all, it comes down to what test it was, because unless you took a test that is actually well standardized, the number that you were given is meaningless. I think the Wechsler scales are the only ones worth paying attention to, although for Spanish-speaking students, the what (Word Accentuation Test) is often used for those who speak only Spanish or prefer that language. Secondly, we have different kinds of IQ scores: Full-scale IQ, Verbal IQ
Performance IQ, processing speed. And various other forms of measurement of intellectual abilities, only paying attention to the full-scale IQ from the Wechsler scale, , is a serious error because the full-scale IQ is simply a conglomeration of the other scores without appropriate weighting. In order to properly evaluate the mean IQ score, you need to know things like the validity and reliability of the measurements that were done, where they were done, and who did them. You need a clear understanding of Probability Theory and at least descriptive statistics, if not inferential statistics. Trust you are beginning to see that this is not a simple topic or a simple concept, and simplistic explanations and single-number IQ tests are worthless.
I went and did one once just to see what it was and got 128.. Which makes sense because I always pass every test I do with about a 70 even if I didn't study or missed lots of the work, I still always pass. People saying they have high scores is funny because on this site there doesn't seem to be a lot of clever people at all lol.
We were routinely psych evaluated and run through IQ testing a few times as part of a job I used to do. I was run through the IQ test 3 times over 15 years with a spread in the results of 10 points. I guess that's reasonably consistent. It got higher each time. So I got better at taking the test? Random chance? Less anxiety? I can't say it made any tangible difference in my life. On the other hand, I don't know how that information was used in decisions about promotions or employment.
I've been tested in the 140 range, but its been a while. Honestly though, it's such a pointless number in the end. It doesn't really mean someone will be successful, nor does it mean someone will be happy in other measures, which means more to me personally than just a number.
Those test are often obligatory.
I noticed some behavior of people who decide if you should get a job or opportunity, if you're score too high you're considered a threat is your number too low you will be seen as useful fool. Sometimes is being smart not really rewarding in matter of bringing your foot in doors that don't open for everyone.
Who needs IQ in this century when we have Trump, Google and AI? :D
I have justified reasons to estimate myself somewhere in the 140's.
Just like most other GaG'ers, harr harr.
Where 'creativity' is higher, and mathematical processing speed is lower.
Seeing the poll results confirms it.
Where below 100 options is a little unfair: how can one know where to tick when one does not even understand the question?
I have never done a test and couldn't care less what the number is.
Also, whenever I see people brag about their IQ, it's usually the first sign that they aren't very intelligent.
Damn, everyone on G@G seems to have an IQ of 150. I had no idea this place was full of Mensa members.
NoScamIQ. com told me my IQ is 198 and that I'm smarter than 99.9999% of the world's population.
@capriVib congrats!
Thanks! Frodo, They said my history knowledge was holding me back, so I'm thinking of studying a bit of history next week and locking in 250+ instead. 😉
😂 😂 😂
I think rat-like cunning is just as important as IQ in the real world.
Must say, I am pleased to see that GAGers are way above the average generalized intelligence though it is just to be expected.
more likely lots of people too weak minded to understand '100' and under 90 gave themselves 120.
@strateguy632 :) :) :)
There is more range than when I first saw the poll which was 100% over 120. It still doesn't conform to the bell curve very well :) :)
Still think rat-like cunning is important in life.
I’ve been tested multiple times. I consistently score high 120s to low 130s on standardized IQ tests. I have scored as low as 119 and as high as 152 on uncertified models.
I got two professionally done ones, got 109 & 127 respectively. So i guess I'm probably in between.
Mine is 113. I did a IQ test some time ago a that was the final result.
i would expect near average 100. except i tested.
Last time I took a online test it was 120. It's been years though.
I once measured 145. How come I'm not rich?
higher than average. don't care to guess though
Between 140 and 145.
One-sixty-plus.
No, the average iq varies between countries.
asker meant globally.
102 I bet
