Does the American Dream imply a country without an ideology?

My problem with the American Dream is that I’m not really concerned with the height of the ceiling. It’s the depth of the floor, and how many people actually CAN reach the ceiling or anywhere near it. There aren’t just infinity great-paying jobs available, so everyone can make it if they just try. And frankly, “trying” shouldn’t really have much to do with any of it. Life is a gift we’re all given; you shouldn’t ever be expected to “earn” your life. Most people just aren’t naturally equipped to be someone who can soar, in the context of occupations and economies. And we can’t just throw up our hands and say “too bad for them; we’ll just reward people we deem “useful”…. and being “useful” to anyone but yourself should never be a variable of your personal value. Basically, I don’t value the contributions that we compensate people the most for, so it just doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. And furthermore, those supposed contributions are in no way essential to my base-level survival, which is my goal in life, not houses and cars and money. Life is about seeing the next sunrise, nothing more. Everything beyond that is extraneous bullshit we don’t “need” and simply “want”, and I’m just not that concerned with the “wants” of humanity in this broad context.

The American Dream is about having an OPPORTUNITY to raise your own status and standard of living. You may not realize this, but in nearly every other country, upward mobility is almost non existent - whatever status or class you are born into is the one you will die with, unless you drop in status. America is one of the few places on Earth where a normal person can EARN their way up the ladder.

Too many Americans take this for granted, and think the American Dream should be an entitlement, rather than an opportunity, but that's never what it was and never what it will be. In most other countries, you have NO CHANCE to advance, but in the US, you do - but it's up to you to work hard and work smart if you want to actually achieve it.

What about similar countries like the British or former British Colonies - do they have opportunity or they just have class systems? I mean a person can literally study or get promoted or network to climb ladders 🪜

No. It's ideology of win or die.

Trump is the quintessence of American soul. For him it worked out due super rich parents but for 99% of such guys it ends badly.

The point is america HAS ideology. Many ideas in constitution document. Personal freedom without anarchy.
