I think there are pros and cons to diversity. Diversity gives you different perspectives on things, which is good. On the other hand, diversity leads to more conflict between the different groups. Japan isn't a very diverse society and it is doing just fine.

Depends on diversity.
People with social background from a society that was 100 years ago in stone age era, their clans are in never anding tribe war and women aren't more than cattle are incompatible with developed society.
Japan is probably one of very few societies where personal virtues like honor, loyalty, credibility are highly regarded. Bringing people from India who see such virtues as idiocy will always lead to massive conflicts and partial brutalization of host society.

Diversity leads far less to conflict than it does to growth. Any fool knows that, except the fools running the Trump administration. Not only that, but diversity is a naturally occurring event in the evolution of life. Trying to STOP it is what's problematic.

How does diversity lead to less conflict? Groups naturally conflict with one another; the more different groups you have in your society, the more conflict. Japan and Asian societies are less diverse and have less social conflict. In my opinion, that proves my point.

Of course it proves your point - it's called confirmation bias. I can dispute, if not disprove your point in one paragraph. Let's say everyone belonged to the one and only society in the entire world. Do you think that would resolve social conflict within that group? Hell no. There'd be all kinds of things that would start conflicts. But WAIT... we DO belong to the one and only society in the world - humankind. Aw, damn, but you'd argue that humans are "too diverse".

You keep siting Asian societies as having less conflicts, but Japan is really your only good example of that in countries with a sizeable population. As I said and evolution bears this out: change, mutation, diversity in nature, are all inevitable. The same applies to human societies. It should be self-evident that it's stupidity, not diversity, that is the primary cause of social conflict.

Japan and South Korea are the canary in the coal mine of population collapse. Not enough people being born to grow up into working age to support all the infrastructure with a large elderly population to support.

Well, some food we eat in the West has come from non-Western nations. Heck, there is some card game called something like Mahjong that lots of people enjoying playing. It comes from China.
