Having anything less than $100

Can't pay all the bills you have

Not living comfortably like living paycheck to paycheck

I am broke because I do not accept donations for my Christian ministry work. I am broke because I do not work as a psychic when I know how to do fortune telling. I am broke because I refuse to lie and cheat my way into job interviews. I am broke because I do not brag about my problems or my virtue for honour and attention the way egocentric exploiters do. I am broke because I am too honest to ask people for money, when around 90% of my extended family are in the top 1% of income earners. I would rather skip lunch than ask for freebies. I am broke because I refuse to cheat on my boyfriend with a guy that can give me money.

this is cool as the novel little women began! but 'broke' is: either big debt on credit card or big debt mortgage or not enough savings to buy new clothing garments. all these i call broke.
