No. I think in driving you have to accept other people are going to make mistakes. For example there's a roundabout near me where tourists often choose the wrong lane then cut across you. It pays to be vigilant especially in the summer. But would a self driving car? Would it just plough on assuming the car to the left isn't going to cut across you?

But the big problem is the manufacturers will play ultra safe incase they're sued. The cars will drive well below the speed limit, they'll be ultra cautious at junctions only emerging when there's a huge gap. They're going to cause frustration among other road users and that's what's going to put people at risk.

No. My car has a driving assistant and it works perfectly fine as long as road is empty, perfectly marked and weather is good. Also in very comfortable environment for relaxed driving but one of those factors isn't 100% right it starts to get errors. After short hype it remains always off as useless gadget.

Even if we get NV GB200 rack computing power with hundrets CPU cores and terabytes RAM into cars, sensors issues and non standard situations remain the same.
