The United States celebrates its 250th anniversary this year, 2026.

But did you know that Canada is also celebrating an anniversary, the 150th Anniversary of Canada's Parliament, founded in 1876, its first step towards full independence from England?

Australia has a notable one next year!

It is the 150th anniversary of the First Test match between Australia and England.

You guys had your War of Independence. We just said "Send out your best cricket team and lets see who is better huh". Turned out it was Australia that was better, as we thought, and it was sorted.

That is kinda a joke and kinda isn't by the way because that is when federating into Australia began being discussed.

If Australia and New Zealand ever do federate, it will be to be higher up in the Olympic rankings. Anzacia would have come third at Paris.

@MrChinaski Indeed there is. Being third after US and China was a big drawcard to Kiwis I have spoken to. I would say they seemed eager even.

We did compete together as Australasia early last century which I only found out today.

Russia has probably sent most of their athletes to the Ukraine front to be shot but I think a permanent ban is appropriate.
