Yes, we could use their resources in European market. Probably Russian natural gas and oil will be cheaper after war is over but it's always a good idea to have another option if Russia wants to find out again that they are just a paper tiger.

Economic cooperation makes sense for midsize countries, especially with similar size countries in Europe where it everyone can benefit. Since the US is no longer an option for Canada, it's either be a part of the EU or join BRICS which helps China and Russia.
