İ think getting married is so stupid. Like, why would anyone with a brain even wanna get married? I don't get why you'd have to tie your life, freedom, and future to someone else. people can love each other, live together, and stay loyal without getting married, so why do they even need to make it official? besides, people change over time, feelings fade, and sometimes even the person u trust the most can become a complete stranger. getting married just cuz society expects u to or cuz you're afraid of being alone seems pointless to me. I think what matters isn't getting married, but being able to live your own life and genuinely be happy

1. You are making the mistake of evaluating marriage on the basis of what you think about it when you have never been married. Your understanding of marriage is incomplete.

2. Most people do not get married because they "have to." They do it because they want to.

3. If you don't want to get married. . . don't get married. Maybe your momma or your daddy will be bothered by that, but most people won't GAF.

4. If you're not willing to promise that you will do the work to make a relationship last, then you shouldn't get married. But if your life is filled with transient relationships, when you get older, you will probably feel that you have missed out on something that is very important to most people (and I expect you won't be willing to admit that possibility exists.)

There is a lot to be said about independence not being tied down. But there is also a lot to be said about being in a loving, comfortable marriage.

It's not something I waste much time and energy thinking about. With the right person, why not, but that's nothing for the near future. Yes things might not work out, but you can divorce.

I am married for 13 years.. With the right person it's incredible. With the wrong person, it's hell. Unfortunately this (your) generation treats marriage like something you wipe your ass with and flush down the toilet.

Also Google something called palimony. A number of states in the US have rules that allow women only to extract money from her ex boyfriend after breakup. So yeah it's just as bad not to marry.
