Work ethic is sh*ttier with every generation, it seems. Most likely the result of participation trophies. Children are is told that just showing up makes them as valuable as those who work hard and make real sacrifices. Turns out adults who want top pay on their first day and they sue when they don’t get it.
It’s not like “job creators” are helping solve the problem. Most employers are all too happy to let you grind your bones to dust for decades of minimum wage and a slice of day old cake on the day you retire. If you ask for a raise, they fire you and hire some young kid who’s desperate for work and too dumb to know his value.
Hell, even in the trade unions, we’re seeing kids come through who just want to play on their phones all day. These are good paying jobs with long term security, healthcare packages and retirement benefits. But it’s too much to ask these idiots to earn it. There’s a union. “The man” literally cannot hold you down, but they still have BS excuses.
We’re heading to Hell in a hand basket.

We do work the hardest and longer than others but it’s had a payoff and that is our standard of living which some just take for granted. If you have a car, tv and shelter you have more than 50% of the world

This is also before accounting for entry to retirement differences.
So the years wasted on BS social studies degrees and the retirement at 60 are not being counted against the US when compared to contries where people enter the labor force at 16 and retire at 75.
