Do you think child beauty pageants should be banned?

[Anonymous]

I’d personally say yes.

[blackeagle007]

Yes, definitely yes. They bring in predators. Children should be in school, being in sports, clubs, choir etc

[Anonymous]

Agreed. They can do it when they’re 18 if they choose

[OneViewpoint]

I think they're creepy as hell. I don't understand it. And I think some of the mom's of those kids have serious mental health issues. I have no problem with banning them. On the other hand, this is a problem with about the same weight as trans people. How many people are actually involved in this activity? I'm not sure the general public cares enough to support a ban. I always thought this was a Southern thing. Yay, White Trash America.

Geographic Distribution

Nationwide Presence: Child beauty pageants take place across the entire United States, operating as a massive multi-billion-dollar industry with thousands of local, state, and national events annually. Shows like TLC's Toddlers & Tiaras highlighted contestants from all over the country.

Regional Associations: Certain regions—particularly the Southern United States and parts of the Midwest (such as Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana)—have deeply ingrained local fair traditions, festival pageant associations, and long-running circuits that make them visibly more prominent there.

Perception vs. Reality: While popular in specific southern and rural community cultures, they are also viewed in many parts of the country (including urban and northern areas) as niche subcultures or oddities rather than a universal mainstream activity. [1]

Industry Scale

Participation: An estimated 250,000 children participate in over 5,000 annual competitions nationwide.

Types: Competitions range from "natural" pageants (focused on minimal makeup, talent, and personality) to "glitz" pageants (featuring heavy makeup, fake teeth or "flippers," spray tans, and elaborate custom gowns).

Yeah, I'm not really a fan of banning things, but this is just so toxic. And then the men who like and judge them are so creepy. I'd never let my daughter compete in one. She can do school plays and dress up however she wants at home, but she's never competing in a pageant until she's 18.

[FreyaRed]

Yes. Honestly, it's competition among mothers how good can they train their daughters than competition kids crave for. Let kids be kids.

[slatyb]

I tend to agree, but there are a lot of things that should be banned, like religious indoctrination and corporal punishment, social isolation, etc.

[s0j7e3zyxc8v0]

Yeah, bc children shouldn’t be pressured to look perfect just to win a competition

[In_Trance]

There's no ban required if people stop participating, and others stop watching

[lilBigPotato]

There should be at least a minimum age.

[leahzrc]

They were created by pedos in my opinion.

[Tamera952]

Yea, probably… they seem a little dodgy.

[exitseven]

Yes, the women that enter their kids are osychos.

[abc3643]

Yes.

[Anonymous]

Trump won't allow to ban that show

[Alex-Snow]

I think so

[jahaims]

For minors yes

[LotharioENERZY]

yes 100%

[Chas456]

Nope
