What is your opinion about the livestream to the public execution being cancelled?

In my opinion this was the right thing to do.

What if some loony parents let their young kids watch a livestream of somebody being shot? Kids shouldn’t be watching.

He is still going to be executed by firing squad but the plan to livestream it to the public has been cancelled.

Never should have been an option in the first place. Firstly it would have given him a nation wide voice which could inspire further attacks. Secondly it would affect the mental health of a lot of people. But most importantly it opens the door for further public executions when politicians think it's of political advantage.

Other people have killed more people yet they die in private, this just smacked of Trump showboating and sending a political message. I've no doubt if it went ahead we'd see more cherry picked executions livestreamed.

It was never going to be made public. Families that the guy killed will be the only ones viewing it. President already said they would be private, so I don't know why the media lied and said that they would be public. Doubt its the first. I remember seeing a clip of The view where McCain's daughter yelled at Trump's son saying "how many more times does your father have to put my father to death?" And once on Late Night when the former governor of Ohio was freaked out saying "They put John McCain to death!" When the Queen died the BBC reporter said briefly "Her body has been lying in state for four years" so she passed 4 years earlier than that? Maybe military tribunals later on broadcast executions live, but that would just drive people over the edge. People need to demand justice first, otherwise its just a powder keg.

I was and am against showing a public execution. Pentagon Pete thought it up and we know what a fool he is. I hope the USA is above live streaming a live execution... leave that to ISIS and the Taliban, we are better than that.
