An intellectual would take knowledge from all of them. Depending on what type of family you are born into and what path you chose to walk in life will determine which sources of knowledge prove to be the most useful and powerful.
You haven't really told us why we're comparing these subjects, particularly in the typically human, tribalistic, "the group I happen to associate with or ascribe to, is more important than yours" - least, judging by the answers. Is it the age-old art versus science debate?
Most people fall into the trap of thinking that if it has no use for them, or if it is not immediately tangible, then it has no value.
After studying tons of philosophy and science in school I've learned to appreciate art and literature a lot more. Humans can't be objective all the time thee is also subjective part of is. Literature is about exploring the subjective world and science and reason about the objective one.
Realistically, that statement is just a statement. I think it could be argued with no end as to which is 'more important'. There is no answer. I think they can be equally as important. Its a question of dependent variables.

No. Certainly not. Maths and Science helps the society to improve, and can even solve life's greatest mysteries.
History is simply studying the past, and not very useful (but not completely useless)
Literature is the worse. It is just a bunch of nonsense words mixed together to form rubbish "beautiful sentences"

It's more important for students to be well rounded than one way or the other.
