Why is Toni Braxton so UNDERRATED?

-huge star in the 90s

-won 6 grammys (including best new artist)

- smash hit songs (unbreak my heart, you're making me high, etc)

-multi-platinum albums(she even have TWO album that went 8x platinum)

- considered a sex symbol

etc.

Now, she doesn't make list such as "VH1 100 greatest songs of the 90's" Which is odd because Unbreak MY Heart was a huge hit. Madonna, Janet , and Whitney careers aren't as big as it use to be either but people call them legends. Toni Braxton doesn't gets called a legend. Why is that? don't say because she filed for bankruptcy. She filed before in the 90s and came back with a multi platinum album. I love her voice (unique & phenomenal), she's beautiful, & I love her music. Anyways, what's your favorite song & favorite album by Toni Braxton?

The reason she isn't rated as highly is that the songs of hers that have been hits are all ballads of the roughly the same style, and she only had two albums of note and they were far apart. She isn't nearly as versatile a singer/performer as Madonna or Janet, who have both had LONG careers covering a range of styles, or even Whitney, whose career was shorter and less versatile, but still longer and broader than Toni Braxton's.

No one is saying she isn't talented, but she is only middle-of-the-pack compared to those at the top of the mountain. There's not room for many at the very top, and it takes incredible talent, plus incredible numbers over a long span of time, to be considered one of those few, and Toni simply doesn't have the stats to deserve a place there. That doesn't make her bad or take away from her accomplishments, but Madonna's had more hits and sold more singles of of ONE album than Toni's had in her entire career. Janet also. That's why they're at the top.

Honestly, I only found out about Toni Braxton from her hit show "The Braxton's." Although I did hear her song 'Unbreak my Heart" before even knowing who she was. But, I definitely think she's talented and beautiful. Her voice is amazing
