I grew up in a decent sized town, and there was this acne prone short nerdy kid that was picked on continuously back in the day in High School. He never seemed to have any friends. He was very smart, and kept to himself. I never truly made fun of him.

Within the last week. I found out that he lives in the same major city in the U.S. as I do. I added him on Facebook, and found out that he is incredibly gorgeous now, and tall. Since he is already smart, he turned out to be very successful, and does well for himself. He very much grew into himself, and I would of never guessed it was him without someone telling him, and seeing his old photos on Facebook. Do I try to strike up a conversation? I'm a little intimidated now that he is probably the best looking guy after our High School days, and wondering what I should do.

Since you were never mean to him,I don't think it'd be weird to do so.

But keep in mind, he may feel some type of way about trusting people he knew back in his nerdy days who want his attention now.think of that Mike Jones song "back then they didn't want me"

I don't see you as a bad person for being interested now even tho some are trying to attack you.I bet if you switched genders and said a nerdy fat girl who got hot..they wouldn't be saying that BS Smh

I used to be ugly and super smart in high school. The guys I liked didn't even glance back to look at me. Now in the uni, he is chasing me around and it just feels so...superficial and shallow. I honestly am just not even remotely interested in him at all anymore. I mean, why now all of the sudden, just for looks?

I had the same experience, but I am a guy. A hot girl in school never wanted me, always bullied me and I realised she wasn’t worth my time. Ten years after leaving high school she suddenly met me at a party, didn’t realise who I was (because I changed so much) and was treating me like a king. I told her to fu*k off, and she was so rejected. People who don’t want you when you’re down, don’t deserve you when you’re on the up and succeeding.

What's he like on the inside? Maybe he's sweet and smart, maybe he's a pompous jerk. Don't you want to know before you allow yourself to succumb to feelings of anxiety, etc.?

Wow... Really? I went through the same thing as he did, and know the feeling of women trying to pull this crap. Looks are not everything, and you should leave him be. If you didn't notice him for who he was back then. Then you definitely don't deserve him now.

The same thing happened to me. I used to be ugly back in middle school and high school and guys were always mean to me. now that I'm older, they seem to pay attention to me. It doesn't feel so great. Shallow jerks!

I’m one of those guys that hugely improved after leaving high school. We are massively distrustful of those people who hurt us in school, and don’t want to have anything to do with them, especially when they decide to suddenly be our friends, now that we are the “attractive” ones (if that’s how it can be put). We only put effort into our relationships with those who truly were our friends in school, because they cared about us when we had little to give them.
