a lot of reactionaries say it's patronizing to black people for the left to say black people can't become as prosperous as white people on their own. Well it's not that we don't think that black people can't "pull themselves up by their own bootstraps", it's that we realize that the government gave out a lot more bootstraps to pull themselves up by to white people (i. e. homestead and federal housing act) than black people. So for white people to say that black people should lift themselves up by their own bootstraps like they did is just pretentiousness.

*But, but, but my ancestors came here from Europe and didn't get squat from the government but they still lived the American dream.
-And there were people born into slavery who became millionaires but we're talking about the systemic problem, not why individuals don't succeed.

*But, but but Asian Americans faced discrimination but they're more successful than white people because they overcame it.
-They overcame the racist immigration quotas that only allowed the most well to do families to move here (i. e. there's a sampling bias).

I had a blue user tell me that the threat of violence has no reason to be unconstitutional while mean words are constitutional because "apparently" mean words can cause *schizophrenia* (LOL) & are just as bad?

"I hate blacks" = protected speech.

"I am going to kill you Joe" = incitement.

Am I alone in thinking this is a really strange false equivalence?

Currently we are ranked last among developed nations and that is 100% plain stupid.

As an American, I want the best Healthcare system in the world!!!

We should find which country has the best Healthcare system and copy it!!
