Help or laugh?

What would you do?

The #MeToo movement has been a pretty big topic on GAG lately, and I’ve already shared my take on it a few times, but I decided to make it a proper post! I want opinions!

Many men disapprove of the movement because it’s used as a weapon against them by many women, and I see this! I understand that the movement is used to empower women, to share and be the voice of victims of assault, rape, harassment, etc, but I’ve also noticed that many ladies use the hashtag to attack men, turning something good into something that has the potential to be harmful.

But my question is... should the #MeToo movement be extended to men? It’s meant to be a voice, yet it seems to be strictly towards women, although rape is international and non-binary. Men are raped on a daily basis. Why is this rarely ever acknowledged?

Clearly I’m all for it.

This question recently came up in an essay I have to write and I'm not quite sure yet. What do you guys believe?

Just want to see what kind of people this site attracts. I’m independent. My views aren’t strictly liberal or conservative and I don’t support Trump.

People on gag have made vague claims about feminists being horrible towards men without offering names and dates. To them it's as if hating men is the core of feminism. If it were, there would be feminist groups officially categorized as hate groups. The only two officially categorized gender-based supremacy hate groups by the Southern Poverty Law Center are The Return of Kings and A Voice for Men, male supremacy hate groups. A Voice for Men is run by Paul Elam, a man who is known for doxing women and promising that if on a jury overlooking a male-on-female rape case he would, in the face of overwhelming evidence that, vote to let the man get away with it.

Anyways, I've stumbled across a study looking at ambivalence towards men among feminists and non-feminists and it found that non feminists reported more hostility towards men than self-identified feminists. I vote no on my poll and I have this study to back up my vote.

Despite the popular belief that feminists dislike men, few studies have actually examined the empirical accuracy of this stereotype. The present study examined self-identified feminists' and nonfeminists' attitudes toward men. An ethnically diverse sample (N = 488) of college students responded to statements from the Ambivalence toward Men Inventory (AMI; Glick & Fiske, 1999). Contrary to popular beliefs, feminists reported lower levels of hostility toward men than did nonfeminists. The persistence of the myth of the man-hating feminist is explored.

Fatphobia (noun): Fear and dislike of obese people and/or obesity. Fear or obsessive avoidance of consuming fat.

Personally, I am. I'm not scared of nor do I dislike fat people, but I do have an intense fear of being morbidly obese or fat.

The term 'fatphobia' exists as a product of the Fat Acceptance movement. Just curious how people feel about the term and if anyone thinks it's relevant.

We now allegedly know why President Trump’s personal assistant is out of a job.
