In the Brazil/Mexico game playing right now (7/2/18), Neymar barely had his ankle stepped on on the sideline and proceeded to cry and scream and roll around on the ground like a bitch. He moaned for about three minutes then got up and kept playing normally as if nothing had happened.

He really is and especially today I despised him for it. But most teams use this "tactic". The sport needs to be reformed.
The FIFA is the most incompetent sports organization when it comes to implementing useful and necessary rules. They finally realized that some sort of video proof is a must. The execution has been rather improvable so far, but it's a first step. (And it only took them several decades to make this step...)
But this whole acting injured bullshit towards the end of close games needs to be tackled. One thing that's really stupid about football compared to other sports is the time tracking. In other sports, time is stopped anytime there's an interruption. In football, the timer goes on, which results in additonal time being added at the end of each half time. If the timer was stopped during interruptions and the games would end on time, acting injured to kill time would become pointless.
I know!!! I you know whats the worse part? That he sent a message to the Mexicans saying something like "They spoke too soon and now theyre going home" and many brazilian fans are saying that Trump is right and Mexicans are trash and nobody wants them.
It always used to be said that rugby was a thug's game, played by gentlemen, and football was a gentlemen's game, played by thugs - but these days, it's a gentlemen's game, played by whiny little bitches (it's not just Neymar - they're all as bad as each other).

Well... yeah, duh. Totally agreed. Another option is that players have actual class and stop doing it. Unlikely, but well within the realm of possibility.
The difference is that most players aren't earning the money or fame that Neymar is, and if he's allegedly so great, then why does he play like a bitch? In baseball, if you use PEDs then you're a bitch; it doesn't matter how well you defend or hit. The real players don't have to do that. Soccer's version of that is taking falls all the time.

Sergio Ramos in the UEFA final flopped on a chance LFC had late in the game which turned into a free kick for Real. if you watched that youtube video it was not relegated to minor players but literally some of the biggest names in the world. if you looked at the vox article they showed Robben who is one of the best players in the last 20-30 years and known to be one of the biggest floppers. you can include names like christiano ronaldo, di maria, Busquets, etc, etc, etc to the list.
i get neymar is a big flopper but it's part of the game. singling him out just reeks of a personal vendetta when literally every single game will contain at least one egregious flop
even one my favorite players steven gerrard who was known for being tough, true and what not took dives. it's annoying but as the saying in sports goes. 'if your not cheating you're not trying'
I've not really watched any of Brazil this World Cup, but I honestly hate it when players roll around as if like that. I don't wish injuries upon players, except for ones that deliberately try to take others out, putting them at risk for serious injuries, but when players start faking injuries and diving about, it almost makes me wish that they get taken out. I think Neymar's known for it, but I'm sure he's not the only player who is.
He excels at being unlikeable. It's a real talent of his. His footballing talent is one thing, but being a mercenary and a douchebag is where he really excels.
A lot of the time it's to try and get the referee to give a free kick etc. Or yellow card another player. It's a sissy move, and quite often happens in male football. Maybe the giant pay checks soften them up 😂
He's trying to get the other team player booked I think. Doing that is quite popular among Latin / Latino team. See Ronaldo and the Italian they often do that.
