The Padres got a better deal on Josh Bell. Bellis a much better batter than Soto, statistically the 5th best batter in the Major League.

Juan Soto is good at bat, but not THAT freaking good. He plays RIGHT FIELD. Only like one in ten balls goes to right field. Who the hell is dumb enough to pay this guy 40 million per year to play baseball? Even if he was the second coming of Chipper Jones, I couldn't see paying somebody that much money to play RIGHT FIELD.

When is the last time ANY major league baseball player was worth their contract? Baseball players get paid for their previous performance , and typically their production varies each year... and of course they have guaranteed contracts. That's the beauty of the NFL, non guaranteed contracts. If you don't perform you are out of a job.

No, they are doing guaranteed contracts in the NFL now. Read my other post. That's even more retarded than doing it in baseball, due to the likelihood of serious disruptive injury at some point, and football players tend to get into legal trouble more often than baseball players. So if you give a football player a guarantee, which some teams ARE doing, you're an idiot. They are, not you I mean you know what I mean.

Basketball is guaranteed contracts too. The Pelicans resigned Zion Willaimson and gave him a lucrative guaranteed income for the next several years, but the kid hasn't even played one game of basketball in over a year due to being a perpetual injury report... AND he has a serious weight gain problem. At least they put in the contract he had to keep his weight and body fat below a certain amount to collect, but that's supposed to be his responsibility anyway You can't be a professional athlete when you're too fat to play your chosen sport.

They interviewed him yesterday and he said it wasn't about the money. He and his agent were just trying to get on a winning team. I guess that changes my opinion of the guy. He didn't want to be stuck on the worst team in baseball his entire career.

It's not just Baseball either. Owners are signing 3rd year Quarterback for 40 million per year contracts with like 80 million guaranteed income. This has become highly offensive to me, and then some kid prick like Patrick Mahomes wants to talk about that being deserved and "good for players".

What the hell is good for FANS: Ordinary people who work for a living can't afford to buy tickets to go to a professional sporting event, because they pay the players 200 times more income than a Doctor or Laywer makes, so the ticket prices are $300 for nosebleed section and $3000 for "good" seats.

This has practically become IDOLATRY the way we pay athletes so much money.
