Yes.

They're more expensive to operate, MUCH more expensive for a young person to insure, and you're more likely to drive it dangerously and kill yourself or someone else (or both).

As it is, you're very likely to get into an accident during your first 3 years of driving. As such, you would be best off driving an inexpensive, reliable, "boring" car - something along the lines of a Honda Civic or Accord or a Toyota Corolla or Camry. These cars have lots of inexpensive replacement parts available, or can be replaced completely for relatively little money. Sports cars are made in smaller volumes, so everything is more expensive.

I recommend you talk to some insurance companies and get prices for a couple of sports cars you are considering. At your age, monthly insurance for such cars are often higher than a car payment itself.

If you're not buying it yourself, then yes. If you have the budget for a sports car you have enough to go for something good but also classy. Audis like the Audi A1 is great, a recent Mini Cooper if you live near the beach. I don't know man car culture in the US is super diff from in Europe, but for a 1st car, if it isn't your own money, a sports car is too much in my opinion

If it's really fast, it's a bad choice for anyone. We're all human. I know a girl who had a Chevy Volt. It was a hybrid, but the drive-train was electric. Anyone who's ever driven an electric car, knows about the torque. They're fast as fuck off the line. She didn't mean to go fast, but guys would flip her off and call her names. lol They thought she was showing off, when she was just going to the store.

Yes, too expensive, also you will mostlikely be too fast in many cases, and as a beginner you lack experience and are more likely to get into an accident.

Get youeself an old but cheap car and once you get enough experience on the road, you may get another car.
