Formula 1 Fans, how excited were you when Max DNF'd in Australia?

As a Max/Red Bull Fan, it sucked that Max wouldn't get 10 in a row or possibly win every race this season

I'm never excited when someone has a DNF, it sucks, and you wonder what would have been if they could have continued

I was cheering! Finally finally finally, someone else to win the race!

I really wanted to see if Carlos could have battled Max for the lead

I never watch F1, but I watched this race. Kinda disappointing that Verstappen and Hamilton exited early. I guess it's nice to see someone else win it, but not really what I came for.

I really don't understand that sport. I don't see it as a sport. The car seems to determine so much. Very little exciting action. I mean, they even run ads during it. Just like "you don't need to see this part" LMAO. And don't get me started on the morals of it. Multimillionaires flying around the world polluting in various dictatorships. I found it hilarious that they were having trouble with the tires because of the extreme heat — and none of the commentators connected the extreme heat to what they are doing: emitting crazy amounts of greenhouse gasses in the name of entertainment.

The entire event was a massive disruption when I was in Melbourne.

It's once a year though and these events, however disruptive bring millions to the local economy mostly through tourism.

Yes , I well understand the positive argument , its line ball frankly , massive business disruption , and frankly so few give a reamote flying fck. If we extended the AFL Grand Final , to play offs , which we should , then we would see an economic difference.

Albert Park use to be my favourite circuit. I can picture every bend and turn on the course. That said, I can't be bothered with F1 any more. I'm sick of the last 2 people to dominate the sport. Shumey and Hamilton, because whilst being the very best drivers, it tended to spoil it for me. I was literally cheering for anyone else.

Now with Max? It's likely to be the same for the next 6 years or so.

That's the thing about F1, people literally forget, there is usually one guy or one team that dominates for years. As soon as someone new takes the mantle, we're all excited, but then of course, they start winning non stop, and we literally won't vote them in for driver of the day because what's exciting about them doing the same thing on repeat, driving off into the sunset unchallenged.

Exactly. There is going to be a very big shake up though in F1 for 2026. I still expect Max to carry on winning, but the cars which use to have v12 then v10 and now v8 engines are going to be using more electrical and less fuel. So maybe less noise I don't know.. It could spark more excitement or ruin F1 completely.. I'm still on the fence about it.. What about you?

Well, he didn't lose, he DNF'd. Different from actually finishing the race and not winning.
