What the hell is wrong with LSU's offensive play calling/design?

They cannot run the ball to save their lives, which is why they just lost to Ole Miss, and they can't stop the run either. This is going to be another 8 or 9 wins season. By the time they play Alabama and get beat there, probably get "upset" by the best Vanderbilt team in my lifetime, and they'll lose another game or two somewhere. WTF is wrong with Brian Kelly anyway? Admit you can't play offense and fix the damned problem.

Also, Nussmeier likes throwing into triple coverage 2 and 3 times per game for some reason. When your favorite receiver is double or triple covered, somebody else is wide ass open, but he likes throwing interceptions in impossible pass scenarios.

Part of the bad passing game experience is rollover from the bad running game and bad O-line. When the defense gets pressure on you every play with just a 4 man front, then of course they can drop 7 and play coverage, and they stop the run almost every play with only a 4 man front, so LSU better figure out how to pass to a check-down receiver instead of lobbing the ball to a double and triple covered wide receiver.

Do you have any idea how dumb it is that they pay Brian Kelly millions per year to coach football, and I swear to God I could do better than that? It's ridiculous. I mean, sure Les Miles couldn't coach passing, but he was usually so good at coaching running that you could just run the ball 4 out of every 5 plays.

Why can't they find a coach that knows how to run a balanced offense AND stay out of legal trouble? Damn.

Whether LSU wins or not, think of the millions the university makes from ticket sales, TV revenue, and its share of the annual SEC purse. Paying Kelly is just a small chunk of that, making it a sound business decision. And if the team doesn't perform, they'll fire him and hire someone else.
