What do you think of the World Cup soccer players reacting to American culture?

In Atlanta a German tourist was posting how impressed he was with Waffle House and Bucees gas station. In Dallas, Japanese fans clean the stadium and locker rooms after their match with the Netherlands. In Boston, the Norwegians did a viking row up an escalator, the Scottish fans drank the pubs dry, and marched with a bagpipe and drums corps to Fenway Park. The Dutch and the Japanese posted how impressed they are with Dallas-Ft Worth saying that everything in Texas is big.

We have some of the teams (and their fans) here in the Kansas City metro area, and from what I've seen it looks like they're enjoying the experience. I have no earthly idea why anyone is impressed with Waffle House; some were eager to try out Taco Bell (but why?) But mine is not to question why, I'm just glad they're having a good time and being welcomed.

I have been to America multiple times because I have family and friends there. I love almost all the restaurants I have tried, but I do not know if that culture is distinctly American because we have similar places in Canada. I do miss Olive Garden which used to be a standard in Canada but then closed most of their Canadian restaurants.
