eff any phone. people become less connected with reality, start to get sucked into their phones, then when there's no wifi or data left, they start acting like the world is going to end. texting is dumb too, but phones are for calls only in my opinion. even then... if i leave the house... i dont want to be found... if im driving, working, bizzy in any way... i dont want calls anyway
Nothing wrong with that. You just may not have the needs like everyone else does for a smartphone, although smarties are helpful for things like online banking and buying stuff. I have a co-worker like you who's like 18 or 19 I think and she still has a phone like that too.
It's not weird. I had a phone like that for several years and I loved it! I started buying more expensive foods 8 years ago and I did not feel happy about it - it was harder to use - required more learning time - often frustrated me with new updates - and I had to hide it sometimes so people would not be upset I had more money than them.
I have one because I need it for work. I realized It's useful when I need to look up something when I'm not home.If you don't need it, it's cool if you want to use an older phone. It's not common, because most young ones want to brag about their cool expensive phone and take dumb selfies.
Have an opinion?
That is not weird at all. As long as the phone functions for what you need it's normal. ♥️🥰
I use it only for calling my parents lol
Nailed it 👌👍
I don't see it as weird.
Considering my grandma even has the newest iPhone... yes 😂Does having it bring back a nostalgic feeling or something? I remember having a slide phone. I don't think I could go back to it though. 😅
I'm not allowed to use smartphones lol
Oh God what did you hack? 😂
haha, I'm getting ready for a test which is vital for my future, and all researches show that smartphones distract us.
Ahhh, dude hop you ace the test! 👌 I'm really not good at tests :')The internet distracts me. I was way more productive those months that I didn't have internet. But bOi do I love having it though. I felt so disconnected with the world without it. It was a weird feeling. But also felt kinda liberating.
Not at all weird. To each their own. I find a smart phone very convenient. I don't have to break out my wallet at the store or petrol station, even. We have an app that allows you to make a few clicks and voila. Saves you from standing in lines for half hour during the rush hour.
No it's not weird , sometimes Smartphones are nothing but a headache i got one the LG Stylo 4 + and it's a good phone just the battery sucks it don't last long i went to bed with 100 % and woke up with it like 80 % and this noon into evening it went down to 59 % . So yes i believe theolder phones are better than these new ones coming out.
I assume it's uncommon, because I think most people around our age that have phones, do have a smartphone.Nothing wrong with, it's basic, serves it's purpose, is more durable and most likely has an amazing battery life. It's also cheaper.
Its not weird at all. I think thats preferable. Especially since most people have computers at home anyways. I have the cheapest smartphone. Its great! I hardly use it. I only use it for the navigation when travelling and to play music on road-tripsother than that I only call 3 people regularly.
I don't call anyone but I have to carry this phone with me because my parents are over-protective haha.
Thats very sweet, I think your parents are right to be concerned.
why don't you message me?
I don't have a smartphone either. If it's weird (and I personally don't think it is 😉), we'll be weird together. 😄
let's be weird together!
I'm with ya, hon! ;)
Not weird, but definitely uncommon.Weird is having no cellphone, like me.I’ve contemplated the idea of getting one, for emergencies, because up to now I’ve been using the old IPhone 4 of my mother, since her job bought her a new one for work.
Most people who use those phones (not smartphone) are:Drug dealers.Old people who are not able to learn new stuff.Low IQ level people, for obvious reasons.People who use home PC/ laptop/... more then phone and stay home most of time.Nearly forgot poor people, who find laime excuses why they do not have smart one...Whatever is good for you use it why you care about other people opinion? That is where people going today 'mine is bigger then yours', what is the point?
No, it's not weird at allThe purpose of a mobile phone, as another user already stated, is to make emergency calls and communicate with people, when needed; not to take selfies and be online 24/7...Smartphones are a waste of time. They should be called dumb phones instead, because they make people dumb and apathetic (impassive). Of course, people here are brainwashed
Its a big achievement that you still have not fall a victim of the smart phones, they on the contrary make the person dumb by hogging all of their times with one app to another.
Not at all, I have actually though about this and the only thing that keeps me from switching is whatsapp that is my main type of communication with friends and I couldn't have it on an old model.
It means that your phone is not smart but you are. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0s8ZG6HuLrU
It is weird. Considering how many people do have them compared to who doesn't, yes it's weird because it's largely uncommon. But my mom doesn't use one either. And when she tries to use mine it is so awkward to watch her navigate it.
If I ever smarten up and leave my job, I might just go back to landlines, I miss not being bothered when I’m not at home, lmao
I grew up in poverty, so I didn't even had a cell phone to check time and date until high school when I made a bit of cash and bought a cell phone just so I had something.I got my first (high end) smartphone in summer 2017 and I'll keep it until it breaks itself. I treat all my belongings with great care.
I grew up in poverty too. We had a no phone, a tiny am radio with 1 speaker, and a 9 inch black and white tv that barely worked, that none of us were permitted to touch, so we never really watched it...
Nah, not weird at all, not everyone can afford one. I used to not be able to afford one, you might be able to afford one someday, unless you sign up for a government smartphone, that way you just have to pay for minutes instead of a bill.
I wouldn't't say weird, someone your age unusual. I applaud you, I wish I could do away with my Dumbass Smartphone!!!
Not at all. You like what you like. Also, I think it's less likely to be stolen. ;D
Don't worry it's not I have a mint condition blackberry 9300 and I still use it , who cares what others think
I don't have a personal smartphone either and I also have a flip phone. My job gives me a smartphone but I don't use it except only when on airplanes and driving gps. Thats it.
'Normal' is not overly important. It is advantagous if you are prone to dustraction to NOT have one. It was good for me when my phone broke during an intense training course. I didn't fix it for four months I was so busy and focused. But it is very useful in a career for networking if you can somehow remain focused on the utility and find entertainment elsewhere through your laptop or computer.
Most people do. I know a guy who deactivated his smartphone's # so he can just use it for media and uses a flip phone for calls, but he still has a smartphone.
Yes it’s technically weird. But if you like it, keep doing what you’re doing.
Must make it hard to use the Internet and impossible to use chat apps
It is because a lot of times they stop making those models so if your phone stops working you're forced to get another model such as a smart phone anyone. Smart phones are any and everywhere and have better security
That's not what I'm referring to
I think it's good that you don't have a smartphone, which means you're not being exposed to the toxic social media and using your phone for what it was actually meant for. Calling and texting.
yeah it's weird but at the same time it is cool. it suggests that you don't need to constantly take selfies and you are not obsessed with yourself and your online profile like so many are. if i see a girl on the street using that phone i'll propose to her
I admire you for it. No one needs a $1,000.00 phone unless they use it as a prop for self esteem.
I never owned a smartphone, never sent a text, and do not own a cell phone.
Uncommon yeah but I don’t think it’s a bad thing. My apple ohone gives me so much shit I hate it
No, I don't have, need or want ANY kind of cell phone! All they are is tracking devices!
Phones are tools and you should use whatever you prefer. It's an unusual thing to prefer but at the end of the day it can get the job done so why not.
Haven't had one until about a year ago when I eneded it for work. Nothing wrong about it. Its just luxury.
That's really weird especially a girl your age. I have a guy friend that doesn't use smartphones either. He said he doesn't like being tracked and doesn't like how you have to give up privacy to use certain apps. So he's using an old phone also.
It makes you notice the life around you. So not that strange. How ever many will find it hard to get a hold of you. Many relationships friends or lovers, are not ready for phone number lvl, so they use snapchat or something of the kind instead, then a relationship deepens often. With out the apps I guess you just have to meet for a cup of coffee
Yes! Almost everyone uses one as an easy way of communication 😶😅 it has its perks BUTT it's not bad that you don't use one. Makes you actually interact more outdoors (:
Mm a little but as long as u have a number i dont think it matters
Yes. I would suspect you are a psycho, drug dealer, terrorist or someone trying to hide using a burner phone to hide something.
Well because of the technology advancing I would say it is a bit weird... and also them flip phones are now known as trap phones lol
Nah, if I had a choice I wouldn't have a phone at all, but I need it for work and so family can check on me.
To me, no. In fact it's very smart. To society in general, it's extremely weird because you don't follow the norms.
It isn’t common but I can guarantee most people your age would probably like the lack of pressure put in place by smart phones. Probably better off by doing so and being outside the 'norm'.
Odd, but not weird. Even old smartphone models surpass flip phone by far.
We are always 2-4 "generations" behind technology and never found it a problem.
It not weird. I do not have a smartphone either. I have an IPhone
I do not right now either but I use a tablet with a keyboard for everything online related
Not weird you use or afford what you can. Smartphones is just more common. I just got a smartphone 2 years ago
Yes for your age. Seem more of iPhone XXIII type person
No i think u r smart to have a smart Phone with the money u r saving for hot having one lol
Good for you then bitch, you must be a special little snowflake ❄️
At that age, nope. I just started owning a smartphone at 20.
I don't have one either. And no, it isn't weird (in my opinion).
Nope. If that's what you fancy, then run with it proudly.
Hey, if I had my way, I'd still have a land line rotory phone!
I don't think its weird. You're probably a lot better off for it in the long run.
aww, thanks. I charge it only 1 or 2 times a week
Me too but they aren’t practical anymoreSomething as basic as a google search takes a lot of workOr if i Need maps. Its impossible lol
I can't search anything with my phone, good thing I have laptop lol
Ya but my laptop doesn't go in my pocket when im at the gym or walking around etcBut i dont like big phones. So i use an iphone SE lolIts small. But does it all
A lot of people are actually going from smartphones back to flip-phones, and I want to as well. Smartphones are doing substantial harm to society to where they're trying to make the legal age 18 to own one.
It's good, stay that way as long as you can. It's weird but it's a good weird.
Not weird at all, you'll not tend to suffer from charge anxiety, you’re not tied to the phone responding to every bleep, chirp and hiccup.
