RE-35 is a digital cartridge for analog 35-mm cameras, would you buy it or stick to film?

Now there are many more reasons to hold on to your classic 35-mm analog Cameras. Wether you invested a serious ammount of money or you just all that mechanical goodness - your classic Nikons, Canons, Leicas, Rolleis or Pentaxes deserve to stay. And even if you just love analog photography: the grain, the colors, the image quality - dealing with analog film does have it’s drawbacks. The hassle und the price for materials keep you from keeping it analog more and more often.

This digital film thing was an April Fools joke by some company and was very well done.

So those of you that guess this was a prink. Have an MHO coming your way.

It may be an April fools joke, but many companies have tried, and failed to produce such a product. The closest to it would be the I'mBack digital backs for 135mm film cameras, though they use small rasp pie sensors and add a lot of bulk to the cameras.

I thought about getting a I'mBack, just to play around with it, but never did, now they have a bit more advanced model designed for medium format, and considering it's WAY cheaper than even an old used Leaf or Kodak digital back, it might be fun on my Mamiya RZ67, but it woun't nearly have enough quality as one of the digital backs on the market, but I don't have 60000 to drop on a new Phase One IQ4 150mp back, so...

Here I have a film for you to try if you can find it. The camera super easy to get. Kodak 616. I got 6 rolls off a ebay that expired in 1964.

I'm using a Brownie Six-16 camera. Once I'm done with the film. I'm going to convert the camera to 120 film

I've got a six-16, replaced the lens, and I shoot modified spools of 120 through it, though I much prefer my Kodak No. 3a Signature. It's the camera I grab when I attend jazz themed events, and I love the feel of the images it produces.

going with a digital camera and adapting vintage lenses for vintage looks is way more practical than this nonsense.

It looks like it would be fun to play with, especially with some of my older kit -- like the Kodak 35 RE I got from a secret santa. But I will stick with film when I can, particularly since I can just spool up a few exposures at a time to go play.

I would try it. But I'm a film girl. Digital can't get close to film. I wonder if they have it in 120mm format

I guess it wasn’t a practical thing or they would’ve made it for real since there probably isn’t enough call cameras to make it worthwhile but I think I can get Polaroid film for my Polaroid cameras still
