If Zuckerberg did invent Facebook, he was very quickly contacted and paid off by the feds. Long before it was popular.
But, MySpace and AIM and all that already existed. It's much more likely that it was dreamed and designed by the CIA to begin with and they came up with a cover story to launch it through college campuses.
Why don't they care if it hurts little girls? Because they literally made hundreds of millions of dollars selling out democratic revolutionary leaders to the Libian and Tunisian dictators who tracked them down and murdered them... And that was just an added BONUS.
Facebook does not exist to make little girls feel good about themselves. The game now is to dissolve everyone's confidence and cause unrest.

Just don't use Facebook. Be yourself. Don't base your entire identity on weather or not the CIA approves of your posts enough to make you famous. They don't want young people thinking for themselves. They don't want people to have self esteem.
The number one factor on a man's self esteem is... How he feels about his job and/or income. The number one factor for women, is how they feel about their appearance. You can't shut down posting selfies on social media, but you sure can control the response and the number of likes they get.
They want everyone to feel weak and fight eachother. Makes it easier to control everyone and gather all the resources to the top before the AI hits.

It's a growing industry bringing in the $$ greens. It's business just like porn film or cigarettes it pay. They get richer off of people and it doesn't matter to them whether it's harmful or not. My tween has been begging for a snap chat Instagram or Facebook account and I have refused to yield. Eventually she will get one on her own time but while I can still have a say in it I tell her not yet. I can't say no or never because I know that will cause her to rebell. So I simply say be patient. When you older. But I do tell her the moment she has one it's will be the same rules as the phone. I have access to the passwords and the lock screen on her devices. I have random check in days and times where I will simply say pass me your phone/tablet. The day she refused to hand it over is the day I'll cut off her phone bill. It's our agreement. Slight freedom with constant check ins.
I don't think that's limited to girls. Just look how many guys on GAG think they'll never get a girlfriend because they're not 6 foot tall and muscular. The problem isn't new, girls have been getting depressed about their image since the days of black and white silent movies. But one thing I've noticed with girls obsessed with their image is they don't have much going on upstairs.

They don't let their own kids use these... why do we allow kids use these platforms? These corporations are about making money.
Girls have always obssessed with their self image since there is no proper parental structure and after these fashion magazines came to place.
I don't let my kids use f/b or inst. or... etc...
My ex. messed up when I told him i only allow flip phones for kids.
Since he is a tech geek. He got them smart phones/ipads... due to lock of supervision... our daughter became a victim to online sexual predator for 2 years.
I am fine with govt. locking down these sites to kids. However, it doens't change the fact that a lot of women are messed up and a lot of men are into messed up women due to lock of social structure and family value dead.
Social media is only part of this.
s Social media is harmful to every gender, let's just be honest about that. A lot of people have a chance to speak their mind, but I doubt they took any amount of significant time to.. you know... actually think.
In the end, we are product to these companies. We get a platform to shout our opinions from the mountain tops. Lives get ruined over a single post. Corporate America gets richer off our misery. The cycle moves on until they find the next thing to exploit us with.

The money is too good to try and correct the negative impact they have on the mental well-being of their biggest demographic. This is how all social media operates.
Why should they? Did someone tell them to? Coerce them or else get fined? I mean it happened before but with "privacy" issues but still. They're not under the threat of being shut down or physically beaten.
In other words junkies are gonna be junkies and no one is really going to do anything about it because what for. Unlike with medical care their well being doesn't bring them any profit.
They are in it for the money. They just say that to save face

I feel like this is more a parenting issue. Just like teen shouldn't be allowed to watch X-rated movies, the parents can set rules about which sites they're allowed to use.

I don’t know enough about this issue to comment constructively. I would presume there are a number of products that sell to those who have negative body image and I’m presuming that’s why they don’t change.
Websites can't be responsible for people's personal life.
