As for the keyboard, I am going to use just the keyboard as I want the keyboard only. Mice break easily (but not that easily), hence it is good to have an extra one as a backup.
I purchased these two so as to stay away from the laptop screen to avoid any strain and other problems. Minimum of 51 and roughly 101 cm of distance is expected between the screen and eyes.
And I am able to see the change in eye strain! Much more comfortable now.
I have also got a study table, as is shown below. But mine is local made and it has iron material instead of wood, for the stands.Laptop on one vertical end and the keyboard and mouse on the other vertical end.
How much are you willing to invest on additional computer equipment?
Computer equipment is one of the things I do splurge a bit on in spite of being quite good at being thrifty elsewhere. I am a software developer working on low-level graphics engines though so it's a part of my work, and I benefit from having fairly beefy multi-core machines to help test the scalability of multithreaded code as well as make it easier to catch the dreaded data race (although my style almost makes it impossible these days).
I probably put more money though into computer equipment, relatively speaking, than anything else. I don't drive an expensive car or own the most expensive home or clothes, but I do invest a lot in computer hardware. I do assemble my desktops though not only to reduce cost but to customize case, motherboard, power supply, CPU, GPU, etc.
I'm also extremely picky about my keyboards. I have eclectic tastes there in that I started with old school, noisy 80s keyboards with metal springs instead of the rubber coils. Those noisy keyboards are the only ones I use with my desktops. I love the tactile feel and sound they make as I type away; it's valuable tactile and auditory feedback for me.
I tend to lose around 25% of my typing speed on those softer and quieter keyboards as well as make more typos: a common one with those sunken keyboards I make is to press two adjacent keys at once. I'm a little bit heavy-handed and like to pound on the keys: a childhood habit formed from 80s keyboards and typewriters.
Another odd thing is that I only use American/English keyboards. I don't like Japanese keyboards even though I'm from Japan since most programming languages only recognize ASCII characters anyway. That makes it a bit tricky to message my Japanese friends using IME and the like, but I have a notebook I use with a Japanese keyboard for personal use outside of work.
I also want to assemble my desktop. Saves a ton of money some people say. You also said it. Also it is better for gaming and developing too!
As to justify the mouse, the main joint of the middle finger and the left finger of the middle finger of right hand were hurting pretty bad, many times whenever I used to do extra hours. So I just got the most ergonomic mic I could find in my budget.
As for keyboard, I need to go close to the screen to type. And going close to the screen is not my thing. So... I got this too.
Actually there was a bluetooth keyboard too, on amazon. But in one review, that guy had literally typed with the keyboard and it was getting hanged a lot. It was very weird. So this receiver one. The reviews are saying the mouse is pretty useless but the keyboard is the real deal.
I also intend on increasing the RAM of my laptop, but... lets see if I really need one or not. Intel i5 8th Gen paired with Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050Ti, 8Gb of RAM. 1Tb HDD, 256 Gb SSD.
I also made typos when typing on these keyboards, but now I have gotten used to it.
Recently our first lab was conducted and there I typed on the desktop keyboard. It felt quite amazing. I mean the response was amazing. It was noisy but quite at the same time.
Am in 3rd year but because of COVID, first time in lab.
That sounds pretty decent. I tend to skimp a little bit on GPU with a GeForce GTX 960 which might seem odd for a graphics dev but I work entirely in offline/CPU rendering with path tracing. My colleagues working in real-time rendering and shaders tend to have much fancier GPUs like NVidia Titans. For the mouse a fairly plain Microsoft optical one. I forgot what model it was but I've been using it for the past 10 years come to think of it. :-D I tend to hate changing my mouse and keyboard. I get so used to the ones I use. I sometimes wish I bought like 10 of them so that I could switch to the exact same one once it wears out/breaks.
The Microsoft mouse was a really good one! I have changed like two mice already and except the present new one (the picture), the Microsoft mouse was the only one who could fit my hand with real ease. Superb and amazing. Sad they stopped making it...
Ugh, I was hoping to find another one once this one wears out. I tried a Logitech one and I hated how it felt that I drove back to the store the same day and replaced it with Microsoft one.

Logitech dolby sorround sound ~80ā¬ even though i only use half of the speakers, there is no option to install the rear speakers.
Samsung 32" widescreen curved monitor ~300ā¬
overall its an investment for maybe 5-10years so not too bad.

Im not a computer fan. I dont use it outside of work unless iām playing Sims but thats usually a one month a year thing. So i wouldn't really invest at all

Logitech are pretty crap for peripherals. That keyboard and mouse combo is pivot going to play a year.

Yes, the mouse with the keyboard is pretty much useless I have heard. But the black one, I am using it now. Super amazing, quiet, no problem.
I have not faced any problem with the table since I was in 11th standard. In fact, it saves me the trouble of bending extra like my friends who laptops are on the beds and they need to bend.
But thanks for the tip regarding the table. I will look into it.š
