Why some people look for advices for their personal problems on social media?

Is that even helpful or could backfire at you? I mean maybe some may indeed help but hey we are talking about social media and some other people may not give the best advice either or they can judge you instead.

Is it because those people dont have friends or relatives who they can turn to for advice, that they can ask them directly and in person so they feel free in asking anonymous people even if they dont know them in person and the person is online?

I found this message on a blog on Facebook. This blog Im a member of. It is called "A little bit of everything".

In that blog all members can ask about anything and everything, from how to change a light bulb to which is the best product to clean the floor or which hairstylist people recommend to do a good dye or what type of recipe I can prepare with old bananas. But members also ask personal problems in order to find many choices in ideas, advices and suggestions to a personal problem, the person may have, from what is the best doctor specialized in allergies in the south part of the city, to "Im looking for the best gynocologist in my area who treats infertilty to "My son is violent and I can handle him anymore, I need suggestions for the best psychologist who can fix my problem and from your own experience" Those are just some of the examples blog members post on that blog I mentioned. Some minutes ago I found a post about some group member asking for help to get pregnant by artificial insemination. I was like what are you asking, really? The post of this person goes like this and tell me what are your thoughts about it.

however I know that nothing moves without God's will , besides I don't have a partner to be able to get pregnant.

I know I have the option of artificial insemination but the Dr that Im seeing told me that she does NOT handle sperm banking here and that I would have to go to Panama. Do you know of any place here int he city where I can have the procedure done? getting pregnant on the first try is low, and I assume that by wanting one so badly you will practically opt to pay for it again so this is where I think it has to be expensive
I would love to be able to look for a sperm donor that is not anonymous and that doesn't charge me an arm and a leg but there is no way I'm going to put up a sign that says stud wanted ".

More often then not people share way too much about their personal lives and personal stuff both online and in person. I have some people who we can talk about anything and cry with if needed.

There are people who share their finances, every fight they have with their significant other, they share their personal bodily functions in graphic detail, they share their sex lives, they share the lives of other people, and anything and everything under the sun

The kind of stuff that people just tell you is astonishing

The lady who post about wanting to become a mom without a partner but she is looking for a sperm donor really irk me and how come a woman post somthing like taht on this blog and asking for help or some advice how to proceed or where to look for fertility clinics, etc.

Just another mintue ago another group member posted asking for ideas where to find some specialized memory doctor for a young person who can test the person. The blog member does not know if the doctor specialized in taht is a shrink, a neurologist.

Sometimes I found on those blogs the dumbest questions ever and the most personal questions ever as well. Some of those people sometimes post the question with no names and other times they post it with their names right on it.

Another problem displayed on this blog: "I have a friend who is going through a very hard situation in his life and he had became very depressed to the point of not wanting to do anything and Im concerned this could worsen. I talked to this person if he wanted to go to a shrink and he told me Yes. So blog members could you please recommend me a psychologist. I will appreciate it"

I really have no idea. If someone needs advice on here that is one thing but people just emotionally vomiting is another thing. I have people who I can talk to about things and things that I never share but when people spout everything to the world like you said a person needing a sperm donor and stuff like that it does not make any sense.

kitty71 I don't know if people are coming here to get a answer to a question or for advice and if people really need to get personal sometimes I will take it into the DM's but just to share every single detail of someone's personal life is a bit much

I know you could get criticized really badly but there are so many opinions that could really help. You might even find an opinion that you think might be the solution. The internet is an easy place to access so many different answers so quickly.

I think it's a lot easier to ask some opinions on things from people who don't know who we are irl. I'd never disclose a fraction of the things I've said here to anyone who knows me personally or knows who I am.
