+1 yYou might just need new ones. But I'll tell a story.
I did some design work for a higher end car audio amplifier company. These amplifiers put out some pretty serious power. One of the audio engineers was talking to a customer who complained that the amplifiers weren't working as well as they used to. After asking some questions the engineer finally asked "Wow, it sounds like you were really cranking it up! What kind of car do you have anyway?" The guy answered "I have a Honda and crank it up to 9-10. It's totally bitchin'. But it's not as loud s it used to be." The engineer answered "I'm sorry to tell you this, but I don't think there is anything wrong with the amps, I think you're losing your hearing."
Maybe your earbuds are just bad. But if you want to continue hearing for years to come, then be very careful about sticking something in your ear and cranking it up. It's not worth it.

These can be anything from 20 bucks to 2 grand, depending on how fancy and loud you want things.
Maybe start with a cheap ebay "headphone amp" to start you down the audiophile journey.
Just watch your hearing though as you can become deaf after a while, playing at full volume.
On the other side though, you might have more joy getting noise cancelling headphones instead. As while not as loud, they will cut a lot of background noise, making your music "clearer".

Some apps have the music/voice levels set higher than others.
I play mp3 songs on my iPhone 12 Pro and the recorded levels of the songs vary so some are way loud and others not so much.
Some of this could be the issue for you.

+1 yWhy won't my earbuds go louder?
It's important that your headphone jack is clean. Any dirt, grime, or pocket lint can stick to the headphone jack which can cause interference with the audio signal, thus warping the sound or making it sound too quiet. Simply use a cloth or cotton bud damped with rubbing alcohol and wipe away any debris you see.11 Reply
+1 yI have had this problem too, and I really don't listen to music or talk programs all that loud. Sometimes the factory settings are just off. the guy who posted "Buy actual head phones instead of shity ear buds" has a point. The plug into a jack wired type of earphones never gave me this problem.

If you first ones, you should check headphones setup for possible config errors. If you use second one, they are likely some 3$ china crap with low signal sensitivity or too professional and have too high impedance for sound devices you use.00 ReplyMaybe spend time fasting to listen to music because if you listen to too loud music you´ll get deaf before you´re 30 and then you maybe aren´t allowed to use them anymore. So give yourself time without music to get your ears some time to heal. Then you´ll hear music loud again.

+1 yYou could try a music player that allows you to access the equalizer settings, so you can increase them, I use Shuttle+ Music Player which allows me to.
Cleaning the earbuds may help too, as dirty ones can block the sound.
Either way, don't listen to them too loud, otherwise you may damage your hearing.

+1 y1* test them to see if they ar damaged. (like borrow a friends pair or something and use them at the same volume as a comparison)
2* check all volume controls, on earbuds, or phone/settings/volume
3* get new earbuds (could try an amp)00 Reply
+1 yThe volume of your earbuds are a function of their frequency response. You can't make them "louder" than they are designed to respond. Your source can be made louder, but your earbuds are set.
00 ReplyI love love music I just love the beating sound you can hook up into a receiver and then back into the earbuds

+1 ySome earbuds have a separate volume from the volume on your phone
Yes you can get extra loud by putting both at 100%00 Reply
+1 yCheck any other settings that can affect the earbuds. One may be at 100%, but if others aren't, they may affect max output.

+1 yif you got them 100% and they're not loud enough, you gotta get new ones that go louder. you can boost them a tiny bit with equlizers but that usually makes them sound terrible.
00 Reply Have your ears/hearing checked, you may have a build up of wax, especially if you favour ear bud/ in ear head phones, as wax can be pushed down the canal by them.

Check your sound settings or download a booster app
Also check your headphone port for crap that might have got down in there (unless your buds are wireless of course)00 ReplyDon't try to make them louder, take a break.

The beats are not as good anymore because Dr Dre doesn't make them anymore. sony wf1000xm4 I think is the best one. Usually the ones that $350 and up are the best quality.
