Is this site better or worse than most social media?

I'm here looking for a new site to use when I want to post or just chat online as I'm avoiding social medias at the moment. What's this site like?

GaG is not so much a site for chatting and as such, I would say that it is worse.

GaG is SOLELY a question and answer site. It is also not a dating place, a porn site nor is it a site to try to pick up girls.

You can post questions of course but remember that this site is open to children aged 13+ and if you have to post questions related to sexuality/pornography, your question may be hidden for review by administrators.

Also, bear in mind that GaG hosts a plethora of trolls and spammers as well as men that disguise themselves under the pink female account for obvious reasons.

It is a trade off, it is better in some aspects of that you or others can't share their whole life story as if to put it out there and expect others to read or follow it.

It is bad in that a lot of trolls exist here and people who are arseholes that get very aggressive and resort to name calling and insults.

If you want to ask questions and answer questions -- this site is better. And the format is better and easier to understand.

If you want to post your story and your life, no, this isn't it.

The DM feature is clunky and nowhere near as good as other sites, but it's okay.

So, this site's in the middle I guess. It really depends on what you're looking for. There are GOOD people here so don't throw it out immediately. Spend some time here.

Oh great. I'm enjoying it so far. I miss some social media platforms but I'm avoiding some of the shitter people from them at the moment. How have you found it differs and why is it better for you?
