I’m watching The Bachelor and since that nasty ass mf has mono from kissing all the girls back to back *cough cough* I mean he has covid from traveling country to country maskless, he’s having to go on virtual dates with his girls. One girl said she tends to glance at herself in the bottom corner of the screen a lot. He said he hopes she doesn’t just stare at herself. Lmao that is so me 😂 I fckin hate videochatting. I will look at the person on occasion but 90% of the time I’m staring at myself in the corner and practically talking to myself. I just hate making eye contact for long. I hate it. I get shy af. I prefer phone calls or in person. But even then I won't look in the mfs eyes unless we’re giving eachother the greenlight to go for a kiss #FeelFreeToList
+1 yYeah... but basically it's impossible to get real eye contact... I've researched this before and in fact from my own observation you have to stare at a point other than their face (usually directly into the camera) in order to appear to the other person like your eyes are looking toward them... it's always unbalanced though because I know this trick and the other person doesn't... if you look at the person's image you appear to be looking down or at something else (appear do to the other person)...
But it is worth the effect of seemingly to pay attention... I try to balance because I also want to spend time looking at the person. But switch back and forth is natural anyway because you don't want to stare endlessly.

Switch back and forth from looking at camera to looking at their image.. just as in real life - when you sometimes take breaks looking away so it's not awkward staring.

Oh wow didn't realize

Oddly enough, I can stare “forever,” when video chatting because it’s not in-person, and it just feels like it’s sort of an entertainment thing for him and I.
In person, is when I seem to struggle with it. I feel like staring at their eyes is unnecessary and when I do so, I just feel like they’re reading my soul, or something lol
If I can stare all over their face while in-person, maybe it’d help. That way it’s more observational and less performance.
02 Reply- +1 y
I can't even stare at a still picture for long. I definitely can't stare at a moving video haha
- +1 y
I get that. I took an online communication class over winter break and amongst my peers, a lot of us mentioned we have difficulty with eye contact.
+1 yIf you dont have friends and work alone, no one videochats you. 🤣😂
My fear is the classic 'boomer view' of having the phone basically at your sternum level, facing up, so everyone gets a wonderful view of my chin collection and both flared barrels of my nostrils; no, I'm terrible at eye contact.
03 Reply- +1 y
Omg that would be a horrible angle. They’d see nose hairs and all that haha
- +1 y
I take pride in my carefully trimmed and arranged beard to hide my chinny-chins; such an angle gives the unfortunate viewer a glimpse behind the curtain, so to speak. 😆

Hahaha

+1 yUgh... Video chat!!! I don't like having conversations where we can't make eye contact. You can't! If I look the person in the eyes, it looks like I'm looking down because I am. I have to stare at the camera in order to appear to make eye contact, but then I'm not seeing the person.
Anyhow... Virtual dates? Oh barf!
01 Reply- +1 y
😂😂😂
+1 yI mean! Who looks directly in the camera in a video chat? I stream many hours and i do a lot of video chat with relatives that lives in the states, Canada, Australia and other countries! No one looks in the camera, we are all looking at the screen 🤷♂️
01 Reply- +1 y
Yea but im technically not doing either lol
+1 yActually I nearly never accept video chatting, although I don't mind at all eye contact. Video chat annoys me, and I prefer by far plain text chatting, e-mail, phone, and of course in person. Generally the video image doesn't add anything useful, well, set aside sexual exchanges that is ;0)

Hahahahhahaa love it, giirl you do hou
- +1 y
Its like i want to look at them but im so camera shy that i prefer to ruin the experience just to say “see you can't say i never videochatted you” 🤣
- +1 y
Ahh okay hahaha makes sense! A plan is a plan 😂😂
+1 yI've done over 250 IG lives and have had no issues at all looking them in the eye. It's an interview type situation so maybe that is different.
01 Reply- +1 y
Yea as a dating coach i’d expect you to be used to it haha
+1 yYup, no problem there. I know many people get confused about whether to look at the camera or at the screen. Either is fine. Just be consistent in where you look lol!
01 Reply- +1 y
I am consistent. I focus on me 😂
+1 yTell me Dizz... do you not actually feel the brain cells in your head "dying" as you watch that show? Do you not feel your IQ is measurably lower after watching each episode? I think it might be.
03 Reply- +1 y
I love reality shows. I can always make it up with brain games and wordsearch puzzles afterwards
- +1 y
The Bachelor is not a reality show anymore. It might have been for a season or two. It's so staged now that it's a joke.
- +1 y
Most reality shows are anything but real. They’re all staged usually with the biggest shit starter working in/for production
+1 yI don't really make eye contact in real life I look above their nose so it looks like I'm making eye contact
11 Reply- +1 y
I should try that lol
319 opinions shared on Technology & Internet topic. Sometimes. It depends on who it is. I always end up doing other things like scrolling on Instagram. If it’s someone I like I’ll maintain eye contact.
01 Reply- +1 y
But like why do they want to be in vid if theyre gonna do other stuff in the background haha
+1 yI mean I watch their face so it won’t really look to them like I am making eye contact but I will be watching their face the whole time.
010 Reply- +1 y
Ahh like stare at their smile or chin the whole time? That shit make me paranoid then i start staring at myself again 😂
- +1 y
😂😂yeah I can see that only getting worse for you. Haha! It is interesting though that you get shy from eye contact…
- +1 y
Its hard to explain but if its a guy i like, and he's looking at me from across the room, i will have eyesex with the mf all day. If he's standing in front of me ready to kiss me, i’ll look back for a bit to give the green light. But on cam, i just can't look in his eyes. I get so nervous. I literally stay stuck in one position and you’d assume the cam has frozen haha
- +1 y
Interesting! Maybe it is just the fact that it is over camera. Like there is something in your head about not being in front of a camera or perhaps it is about not doing things on camera…
- +1 y
Yes im camera shy
- +1 y
Well that certainly isn’t a problem. I hate cameras too. My mom is always wanting to video chat and take pictures and whatever. I’m always like no we don’t…
- +1 y
I hate when people who have seen us 90% of the time in person want to videochat. Like no you see me all the time tf. My friends in HS used to want to call by video and although they’d look away at their game or tv the whole time, its like why tf am i on video
- +1 y
Haha! See my ex always wanted to video chat too but more because she didn’t want to have to hold her phone all the time. If we did a video chat it was like we were together and we could make eye contact if we wanted or we could just do our own things and subconsciously talk.
- +1 y
Yea a lot of people want to do that whole “do our own thing” while videochatting. Im hangin up lmao
- +1 y
No that is fair! Lol! I’m not a fan of it anymore. I would much rather not talk then to half talk.
+1 yYes, I am. I always look at the person I’m chatting with, especially my ex-girlfriend when she and I we sleeping while still chatting. She would usually watch me sleep.
01 Reply- +1 y
I see
I'm not one to make eye contact when I'm talking unless I'm heavily invested into the person and feeling comfortable in their presence. I focus on simply listening to their tone and Choice of words when making communication.
02 Reply- +1 y
I can be heavily invested and still look away haha. But i admit if their face is extremely gorgeous then yea i might check em out more
Yes, I am very good at maintaining eye contact. It takes work to do it.
02 Reply- +1 y
Serious work
I am not a big fan of video chatting so i rarely do it. Never
03 Reply- +1 y
Its a one and done for me. I’ll do it just to say i did it and then its like dont ask me to do that nervewrecking shit again 😂
- +1 y
Yes lol
+1 yNot really because I am always looking down and it looks like my eyes are always closed. I tried to lift it up but it looks like I am high or really tired also.
01 Reply- +1 y
Lmao
I look at their eyes but LovingLoverReturned has a good point.
01 Reply- +1 y
Mmhmm
+1 ySure I love looking into a girl's eyes when we're doing a video call because it's one of the most attractive parts in her body when talking to her
01 Reply- +1 y
Ahh okay
+1 yNot if the woman I'm chatting with is mostly or completely undressed
01 Reply- +1 y
Lmao
+1 yNo because I need to look at the camera but I look at you instead.
01 Reply- +1 y
Haha
+1 yIt's hard when you're when you don't have enough self confidence in your own looks, and you keep checking your own image to make sure you aren't absolute garbage
02 Reply- +1 y
Its not so much about not being confident in my looks. I just hate being on cam and refuse to look over at them haha
- +1 y
Maybe I'm just talking about me then 😂
+1 yWhen video chatting, I’m good at looking at myself.
01 Reply- +1 y
Same 😂
Yeah I find it rude during a video chat to not keep eye contact
02 Reply- +1 y
Which is why its better to just do a phone call
Yeah I attended 1.5 years of my college in online classes so I've grown accustomed to it.
01 Reply- +1 y
Yea even when i have to get on cam for work, i eventually go offline when they stop paying attention
+1 yLmaoo no cuz I don't like being stared at , it's a trauma response from my childhood but in slowly overcoming it
01 Reply- +1 y
Aww i hope you get past it
314 opinions shared on Technology & Internet topic. I generally look at their eyes on the screen; but I wonder if it looks like I am looking away. Since I am not looking at the camera.
02 Reply- +1 y
Ahhh didn't think of that
I'm not good at video chatting in general but generally I am capable of looking at the image of the person's eyes much easier than in person.
Though sometimes I think I'm supposed to look at the camera so they can see my eyes better.
00 ReplyI usually always look people in the eye it's just respectful.

I actually prefer video chat. You can see the person and their expressions which are part of clear communication!
01 Reply- +1 y
My expression won't change on video. I look robotic and frozen haha
+1 yThere's an app for that...
https://youtu. be/ORzpvO1nflw00 ReplyNo, I am not comfortable with video calls. I am camera shy.

I wouldn't look them in the eye regardless
About the only time I video chat is when the girl and I are masturbating together.
01 Reply- +1 y
Haha hot
+1 yIf I'm videochatting, I talk to the person as IRL. It would be weird & rude NOT to!
05 Reply- +1 y
Yea well being weird and rude never stopped people from being weird and rude ig
- +1 y
Ikr? Some people just look off in another direction. I suppose it's because they're cameras are at 90° to their computers! WHY?
- +1 y
Lol you didn't read my bold huh 🤣 im the pot and kettle
- +1 y
Yes, at least your looking AT the screen! These people are looking at their computer monitor while their camera is where their right hand is!

Oh yea i can't stand that
