Does anyone know any good free apps to read books on?

I’m specifically looking for them on the App Store.

It's not an "app" as such, just a website, but the Gutenberg project has thousands of public domain books available free (and legal, since, y'know, public domain). They've also got many, many audiobook recordings of them (also public domain, and free) at Librivox; being all-volunteer, the quality's kind of hit-or-miss, but you can't beat the price.

I'm saying the sites are illegal as they are providing books for free without the authors permission. So they are likely to just vanish

Kindle is free if you have iPhone and you can download green books on Gutenberg

Thank you so much! Google books usually doesn’t allow me to read the entire book for some reason. I have to sign up and pay I think.

But is Gutenberg available on the App Store? And what is green books?

It’s a website and it’s not an app but kindle can download books from the website. You have to make sure you use your cell phone and your phone is new and updated cause it can give older devices viruses. My phone is 2019 and updated and I’ve never gotten a virus but my lap top was 2016 and it got a virus from using the site.
