Oh, men definitely do on average  even if let's say we had the same amount of people playing video games.  We're just different  in what expectations we have from others, what interests us, and what types of interactions we get. -  Girls are more likely to experience toxicity or being targeted online . Guys usually just deal with competitive shit talking, lmao. -  Usually girls care more about connecting  with people than us and the internet is superficial.  -  I think girls are more likely to be judged for playing video games  all day by friends or family than guys.  Those are just my thoughts on why girls are less likely to play video games as long as we do.

I think a lot comes down to the games and platform. Games such as Baldurs Gate 3 have a lot of girl players, where as driving games considerably less. Then throw in the likes of Sims and Minecraft, you get even more girls playing. For first person shooters, driving games, it is guys, for rpg it is likely fairly even. I play with girl gamers

Girls do not have the twitch reflexes most guys do. Therefore, they are at a competitive advantage in all esports. There's all-female League of Legends team that got smashed in competition to the point where it was laughable they were even in the running. While yes, there are a few outliers, it's funny how we still think boys and girls are equal even when it comes to these types of sports. Men also tend to play more violent games and women tend to prefer more casual or sims-type games. It's a hobby for most people and only about.001% will ever make money on it. That's okay. Gaming as a hobby is definitely a more active form of entertainment than watching TV.

I really couldn't say player count charts aren't really divided between male and female gamers but if I had to guess it'd probably be guys just because it's generally more of a guys hobby though there's plenty of female gamers out there as well.
