Currently a Chevy. It wasn't my choice. When my financial situation improves I'd like to get a used BMW diesel. I previously owned a VW diesel. In the Chevy I'm using Walmart's SuperTech full synthetic oil with an ST upgraded filter and go about a year / 6000 miles. I'd like to try a Royal Purple filter but it's probably overkill. I usually use Mobil fuel. 87 octane in the cold half of the year and 89 in the warm half for more torque.

Double thanks for details I understood most of that. , 😄

not a big fan of chevy. Although the full-size trucks are still pretty well made like the Silverado or the full-size truck based suv like the Tahoe. You still get a good old reliable American v8.

91 Chevy Silverado it's an extremely reliable truck, tons of parts around for it and it's easy to work on. And yes it's used which I'm fine with I'd rather pay 1,500$ for an entire vehicle then pay for a brand new one which ridiculous car payments every month.

Regular stuff or the premium? ⛽⛽

Thanks. Not a hatchback man then I take it? As once I heard a guy say years ago manly "that's a chicks car"* ouch, 🤕😳

Lol nah I'm a truck and classic car guy. Meh I don't care if a guy drives a hatchback to each their own. But a truck is more practical for me specifically an old truck for the reasons I stated above. Plus it's more practical for me due to the nature of my work. I need to have room for tools or to haul stuff.
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI have a used Fiat 500.
It has a good/decent mileage.
I adore the model.
And I really liked driving in it when I test drove it.
And well, couldn't afford a new model.

What fuel brand or oils brands you use to run it? Curious 🧐😛
- +1 y
Get regular services and oil changes, fresh tyres/tires?
Opinion Owner+1 yFuel brand? Just.. the regular?
I've had some issues with the care - the con of having an older car.
Luckily my dad is good with cars so he has looked at it on several occasions.

If I may be nosey now old we talking and that said, like when you pick a gas station or petrol station, is it Chevron, is it BP, is it Mobil or is it Shell? 🐚
- +1 y
Groovy lady. For me I sometimes think the oldest car i'd own or use at any time, unless I was ultra desperate, is 30 years max.
- +1 y
So circa 1994 lol or if I had to go further, 1991 and 1991+ lol
Opinion Owner+1 yI don't remember.. it's between 2008 and 2012 or something, so not as old as from 1994 xD
But I have driven it for quite some time now.
I don't think we have Chevron, BP or Mobil here...
But yeah, Shell when I can, it's what I'm used to- +1 y
Ah. The good ol Dutch for a Italian ride. Nice 🙂👍🏻 and that's groovy, I've known the current 500 whenevwe it's said as Fiat 500 to my brain to me to only have been around for the last 10-12 years lol aka 2012 or 2010. Lol 😆 anyways. Well, 🧠 anyways.

Clocking up many Kilometers or miles on the dial by now? I don't own my own car, yet I'd like a small, hatchback, or if I had to have rear passengers, I'd have to go bigger hatch or even a small 4wd. Aka a baby SUV, I love calling them Baby Suv's or baby 4wd"s for the smaller yet adult fitting nicely in the rear ones. 🚙
Opinion Owner+1 yI have a little over 170.000 km on my car, It was around 150.000 when I got it barely a year ago xD
You like cars or something? :P- +1 y
Somewhat sure 😊 they are the main means of getting places besides legs which I'm grateful for and arms
Opinion Owner+1 yHahah yeah I guess that's true :P though there's always public transport, although it's often shitty

You British or something? 😅
Opinion Owner+1 yNah, not really, no. Danish :P

Lol so you own three cars right now? 😀

4 tbh if I include land rover but that’s just for rural stuff

Oh wow. A self made man right here, applauses to you sir. Genuinely. Anyways, got a favourite? And who do you give the most tender care for, aka oil changes and services and finest tyres/tires and finest fuel/⛽ or all 3? 😀😈
- +1 y
2 of them are over 10 yr olds, just because a person has more than one car, don’t jump to conclusions about values, the land rover is 20 yr old. I do my own oil changes etc , the new ones were bought with servicing packs for free they cover 4 years.
- +1 y
Never sir, never assumptions, wink wink
Anyways mind if I ask ya, good to hear a man who maintains their cars safely and well, ultimately it's a metal cage on 4 wheels and behaves like one if not appreciated for what it is and so on like safety and crashes potentials, anyways; they all take the premium grade fuels? Hope you don't mind the price tags you get for leather seats and pricier fuel/oil etc parts. - +1 y
The downside to "prestige" or "marquee" names or brands. Like you said, if you told someone, they'd assume you're rich, without realising "oh it's just a beaten up older BMW" or "it's just a beaten hand me down Mercedes" if people knew the whole story than a guy on the street overhearing 👂🏻
+1 yGo Honda or Toyota. You lose money the instant you drive a new car off the lot, so there’s really no need to buy new

10 Reply1.6K opinions shared on Technology & Internet topic. I always buy American made vehicles. I buy full sized SUVs, keep them for 12+ years with over 200K miles. and sell then myself. I bought a pickup truck in 2019 and plan on keeping it forever.

+1 yFord (American). Most practical option for me. My vehicle is 2016, so used. Only one previous owner.
10 ReplyKia is South Korean but they have plants all over. My last 3 cars I all bought new. It makes sense if you keep the car for 12 years like I do.

How's it compare to a Toyota?
- +1 y
both are reliable... I'd say Mitsubishi is more efficient though, they do have off-road "in their blood" so they are about performance
- +1 y
Who'd win in safety or fuel economy? Last one 😄 q I mean.
- +1 y
definitely Mitsubishi or Subaru if you're on the country side... but for city, perhaps Toyota
It's what I wanted.
