Once’s it stops functioning at quality capacity of the camera quality starts to look horrible.
I noticed this with iPhones. Mostly, the batter % will give up and run at lower capacity. It’s an easy fix though with replacing the battery itself. My issues come once selfies and camera quality starts looking horrible.
The last couple of months I’ve really considered s24 but something about an iPhone vanity really is preventing me from making that switch to an android.

My list begins with a razor, then to iphone 5 when razor in 2012 was no longer supported for wi fi use in my car. The 5 got stolen and I replaced it with iphone 6 which was fairly old at the time and used this one until June of 2018 when I purchased iphone 10's for both me and my daughter. She now has a 15 pro while I still have the 10. Hubby also has iphone 15 pro

    After a decade?

I couldn't care less about a mobile phone... Only got my first Smart Phone 3 years ago... As long as my phone works fine for playing music, I do not see a reason to replace it.

Everything a phone can do, a PC can do that better... and I am a gamer (No, I do not play those stupid browser games). I've got a decent PC, though it is 2 years old already.

I don't, I'm trying to hold on to my phone as long as I can. Its a OnePlus 3T from 2016 and its doing things I can't do on modern phones. Yes modern phones are faster but in terms of freedom they downgrade me. Phones I like aren't being made anymore so instead I modified my phone to last as long as possible.

Got mine replaced after my Samsung Ultra S22 got brick after an update. Got a Samsung Galaxy A14 and it's faster and 5G. Honestly depends if my phone starts dying fast or constantly freezes after like 5 years then I will replace it. Maybe gone through three phones since 2017 that lasted for years before needing upgraded to a newer model.

When i break it or it stops receiving Secuity updates whichever comes first. You don't want to have personal information on a phone that no longer receives updates like mobile banking, so hackers don't hack it lol

I've had my current phone for about 4 years now. So, as long as it keeps working I'm gonna keep it. Or until some brand new amazing technology/feature on a smart phone comes out which makes me want to upgrade. Until then I'm happy.

When it becomes unusable. That's why I'm getting models, that are not fully planned to become obsolete for as long as possible. Which is hard to do because remember we used to have removable batteries. Now no manufacturer makes them. It is a business opportunity, that no one is going for. Except I found HMD just now, which looks quite promising.

I had my previous phone for nearly six years. I've had my current one for about a year. I may keep this one until it burns out.

I still have an i8, and I bought that used/refurbished when Apple stopped supporting 3G and I had to upgrade from my i6s.

I have no desire to switch until I have no choice.

That period stretch between the iPhone 8 & iPhone 11 and later between the 11 & 14, for example.

2-3 years… typically in alignment with the cell contract. Since tech changes quickly a phone upgrade seems worth it every 2-3 models
