Why are people on the internet so cruel and wish bad things on others?

I've never been horrible to someone on the internet, I just ignore/block if someone is rude to me.

Do you think Narcissistic people who have lost ALL supply in their life, turn to the internet to harrass people instead?

Or do you think all or most people have the tendancy to be nasty online?

I think it’s safe to assume that those people just suck in real life. Maybe they hate their job, their love lives, hell they hate their lives in general. They feel unable (or just too freaking lazy) to do anything about this or that, so they get online and make everyone pay for it. Then they feel emboldened to behave so atrociously because there’s rarely ever any consequences that affect their real lives. No jobs or connections compromised or lost, nobody IRL to know they even use certain platforms online to troll in their free time.

@kezharris because that’s their true face, unlike in public or at work they say that we are nice and are not racist bla bla bla. they are just tired of whole day acting, so come to internet to relax by showing their true form

People can be really nice on the internet too, not everyone is mean all the time.

In addition to it being anonymous so it makes it easier to speak your mind, there's also the aspect that acting like a shithead and trolling people is fun.

I think the best thing to do is not take things so seriously.

It's the same thing as the guy who cuts you off in traffic and then gives you the finger as he goes by. A person is anonymous online. You don't know who that person is, and you'll never actually meet that person in real life. So he feels safe in saying whatever he wants, knowing there will be no consequences.

It takes energy to be negative. And I don’t know why people waste their time. Trolls seem to be rotten to the core, and their narcissism makes them relish in what they are writing. People waste a lot of time tearing down others. If they took just as much time to help others and lift others up, the world would be a better place.
Plus they do this because it is easy to hide behind a username with no repercussions for being rude, insensitive, or otherwise unkind.
