Are you worried about the future of home computers?

There's only 3 suppliers of RAM in the world and 2 of them are in South Korea. The only one in the U. S. just announced they will no longer make ram for consumers only for AI companies. And Open AI has secure a significant portion of the RAM from the other two companies for the future. So this means home computers will likely rise in cost significantly. Right now there hasn't been an effect yet because most of the companies secure their supply for a quarter or a half a year in advance. But in Summer 2026 or the second half of 2026 you might start to see the effects.

This guy even suggested that in the future they'll make you subscribe to a service to have memory on your computer. And that is a crazy idea.
I just bought a new desktop and laptop so I should be set for at least 7 years but it's still a concerning development.

Maybe the price rises will let other companies jump into the gap so that is always a possibility.
