I still remember the phone number of my middle school best friend. I remember the number of my childhood home. I remember a robotics college number and a pizza delivery number.

I had to remember those first numbers and I called them all the time. The business numbers I remember because they had jingles in their commercials. I can still remember the jingles and numbers.

I am sometimes unsure of my wife's number because I do not dial it. It just hit her contact from my phone.

Well, when I use my card number often, I remember it by heart pretty well. My social security number, I also remember by heart... I think most people do though. And I used to remember a few phone numbers by heart, back when it was more needed. But now it's not, so I don't really try to remember them. It's all on my phone anyways.

Back in the days when there were no mobile phones or these devices were just getting introduced, I memorized a phone number of a girl I had just met. It's a good thing I didn't forget it, cause I called her the next day and arranged a date. Still married after 20 years. I remember the phone number to this date, even if it belonged to her parents' house and the number is no longer allocated.

When I was a kid, my parents asked my sister and myself to memorize a license plate, as they had just witnessed an accident. I still remember it, my sister doesn't have a clue.

As for security codes, they are all different. I do remember most of them, but I have a cheat list just in case.

    Terrible.
Phone numbers are stored in my phone contact list. And I save passwords in files on my laptop.
I know my SS# and driver's license by heart because I've had them since I was a kid. I still remember the phone number my family had when I was growing up. (Torry) To7-9777 (867-9777)
The only other phone numbers I know by heart are mine and my wife's.

I remember a few of the important ones, like the lock on our door. I don't remember all of the ones I may encounter.

You know, studies have shown that we humans can only handle seven (7) things in short term memory, the easily accessible one, at a time. That's why phone numbers were originally no longer than 7 digits, and why we now have trouble remembering the 10 digit phone numbers, why contact lists in smartphones are so important.

Yes. Absolutely. When I was growing up, my parents taught me to always know important information (i. e. their phone numbers, our home address, etc) in the case of an emergency. Even now as an adult, I make it a point to remember stuff like that. It blows my mind that many people don't know their cell phone number by heart. That's what technology has done to society, though.

The codes I use daily aren't a problem. I remember my home phone number when I was a kid 70+ years ago, my dad's office number from way back then too. I recall our hard wire home phone. Ironically, some (companies, etc) still have that thing on file as an active number, so I guess AI isn't all that intelligent after all.

Not very since the cell phone I finally acquired has the contacts area. But growing up in the 70s I kept every friend and acquaintances number in my head. There is actually two numbers of closest friends phone numbers that I still remember. Then I remembered or memorized everything.

    Security codes sure
But I haven’t memorized phone numbers in ages
I just know my dad’s and mom’s and that’s because I memorized them when I was like 5 years old and they never changed

Very, but given I'm an engineer it's also a given I am good with remembering a lot of specific numbers and passwords quite easily.

I can't remember mobile numbers, they're too long. Numbers up to 6 digits I can remember easily so long as I use them reasonably regularly.

Not bad. But I usually remember the pattern not the digits or letters in order. So if you scramble the keyboard I can't remember it.
