Trending & News In my early 20s, the super dependable '63 Buick Le Sabre 2 dr hard top that had taken me on many adventures wouldn't start one day. I couldn't figure out what was wrong and wound up selling it to a guy.
I turned around and bought a 1970 Chevy El Camino.
In 2002, I bought a beat up 1997 Ford F-150 for $1100 to help me move into my new house. Over the years, I got a ton of work out of it. It always passed smog.
It had an auxiliary gas tank.
Around 2018, the fuel filler lines started leaking where they entered both tanks. Fixing them would have cost more than the value of the truck at that point. So I parked it for years and finally sold it to a guy for $100.
When I was 55, I bought a used 2002 Prius that was in excellent condition. I put a lot of miles on it. When it had 149,000 miles on it, the hybrid battery went bad. The dealer wound up replacing it for free because they are warranted up to 150k.
In 2017, an engine cylinder went bad. Aside from that, the car was in great shape and had a fairly new hybrid battery. People said it wasn't worth more than $500. I found a guy in Ebay who paid me $1500. I turned around and bought a pristine 2007 Toyota Rav4 Limited 6 cyl, 4WD, fully loaded with 82,000 miles on it. I'm still driving that car. I love it.
I've had a car that died on me.
Most of my cars have all been old vehicles over 10 years old, but I've had many miles of trouble free motoring from them.
One car had given me good service, but the bodywork had deteriorated, even though I had made the car look new when I bought it, and still looked new, but I knew otherwise.
I decided to take the car for one last hurrah, but unfortunately this was impossible, the car had died on me 😢
There was a problem with the car alarm system that prevented the car from starting, and now obviously wasn't worth trying to revive the old lady, so she went to the graveyard in the sky, where all great vehicles go when they pass away.
Nope all my cars have run surprisingly well. Gwt rid of them before they die lol
Only my very first one, an old beat-up Ford Mustang.

I had my mothers old Ford Taurus. All 3 of my kids learned how to drive on it and my youngest son commuted to college with it. It was over 20 years old and it ran good but I could not get an inspection sticker for it anymore. It needed a lot of work so I donated it to some charity
I had an engine blow out once on the highway. And I've run out of gas twice, one of which was a mile away from a has station.
Sure. I've had all kinds of older vehicles with all kinds of problems.
How old was the oldest one?
We’ve had some close calls with the old truck, but it survived until one bad mechanic made a big mistake and the truck caught on fire when driving it. But my brother was safe but the truck was done
I had a car that stopped whenever it snowed. The snow would go in under the bonnet (US: hood) and settle on the spark plugs. The car wouldn't start again until they dried out.
I usually have it repaired. Only once that was not economically viable.
It wouldn’t start one morning and needed a jump, but then it worked just fine
Had a timing belt go on one. Destroyed the engine.
It's so sad when it happens 🚨🚗
4th.
