Beyond that, I suppose rattlesnakes - but those are darn near everywhere. In fact, a couple of weeks ago, my cats were circling a baby rattlesnake on my driveway, only about 14" long. He'd been on the concrete and that had lowered his body temperature so that he was very lethargic, which was good for the cats. I scooped him up in a 5 gallon bucket and took him to the open fields a few blocks away where he belongs. I haven't seen a rattlesnake on my street in about a decade, even though we're just 2 blocks from large open fields, so it's not a common issue, but it happens.
My biggest hassle when camping is normally the racoons, as those sneaky bastards will steal EVERYTHING. They are smart, quiet, and strong, so you really have to keep all of your food locked up. A couple of years ago, I was grilling hot dogs, and I went to the lock box to pull out the hot dog buns, and set them on top of the box so I could hunt down the ketchup and mustard, and 3 seconds later, a racoon arm reached over the back of the box, snagged that bag of buns, and the racoon was gone with it before I could blink. Racoons do not mess around!10 Reply

+1 yOther humans. We have bears, mountain lions, poisonous snakes, noxious caterpillars, mozzies, alligators, and lots of various bacteria and viruses, but other humans are probably the top of the list in terms of most dangerous and general nuisances. Some of them carry deadly weapons and have nefarious intent on either stealing resources or sexual predation, and even the friendly ones do nasty things like surface pooping or defecating in the water supply.
Second on the list would be the bacteria/viruses, those very small yet very troublesome organisms. I have spent a lot of time in the bush and never been bothered by large predators. Even had some bears very close up but no issues with them, they tend to run away from me and my mates.00 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yMaybe also boars here in North Germany.. and ticks in some areas.
Also desirable to get protection from mosquitoes in their season, that is probably the one I have been most aware of personally :D.. and one needs to be careful not to start any forest fires, especially been dry the last three years.
But really is not a dangerous place to camp compared to other parts of the world xD00 Reply
Well for us it depends where you go camping. We havw camping parks which is safe. So mostly spiders, scorpions, snakes etc.
If you choose to camo outside the camping places then wild cats big and small such as lions, leopard, caracal etc.00 Reply

But if often depends on where you live in the country.
Like where I live in the country the most dangerous animal you have to worry about is probably packs of coyotes and rattlers.10 ReplySpiders, snakes, mosquitos, kangaroos, the bipolar weather.
I’m not too sure exactly as I’ve never been camping because I don’t like bugs and dirt, but I imagine these would be some of the things you have to look out for 🤷🏼♀️10 Reply
+1 yI'm in the US and the wildlife is different depending on where you are. In my area of Michigan I would say maybe a black bear. I'm in the lower peninsula and even black bears are rare. Coyote, maybe.

+1 yThe USA is an extremely diverse place, as far as climate goes. In my region, you're gonna want to watch out for heat exhaustion and dehydration definitely. After that maybe scorpions or rattle snakes.
