These are some pics of when I went to Yosemite.
Next up, Yellowstone or Rocky Mtns
I love them. There is a reason why they became national parks. It's because they are nice. I've been to a lot of them in the US and a few in Canada.
I just checked the list of national parks, monuments, etc. I've been to approximately 42-45 in the US. I'm surprised it's that many. If I didn't look it up I would have guess half that number.
A quick list of my favorites are Mammoth Cave, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Teton, Glacier, Redwoods, any of the ones in southern Utah, and Rocky Mountain.
There are also wilderness areas that I don't think are part of the national park system. A really nice wilderness area is Three Sisters in Oregon. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Sisters_(Oregon) If this was a national park it might get ruined. As a wilderness area it's more protected than a national park.
Yes love them and have been to pretty much all of them.
i sort of live in one or the edge of one - Northumberland National Park.

Germany definitely isn't as vast as america but there is a national park in the harz region about 30 minutes from where i live that i absolutely love. It is one of my favorite places on the whole world and as soon as i have the money i'll get a vacation home there. I also love the folklore, there are a lot of histories of witches & magic in those woods.
@EllaNella been there and yes it’s stunning and has a lot of history to it, both ancient and recent.
New Zealand. Some redwood trees. Last photo of a hot n cold pool that literally stinks of sulphur but it’s volcanic so of course it would. It’s a lovely swim though.

I actually haven’t been to any yet, but I’d love to check out any and all of them. I live kind of near a National Seashore, which might technically be a National park, I’m not sure, but that’s about it that I’ve seen.
The one I really want to see is Garibaldi Provincial Park up in British Columbia, Canada. Absolutely bananas….
Yeah, Cape Cod isn't a National Park. But I think it's still part of the National Park system. (by the way, great place.)
And wow- that picture is absolutely beautiful.
@Jamie05rhs Word, maybe just under the same management or something, I don’t know.
I think I’m spoiled by proximity because the Cape is just kind of whatever to me, haha. Definitely nice, though, not a bad place to vacation. But the seals have rebounded since they stopped allowing them to be hunted like 50 years ago, and that’s all good, but now the great whites are back in full force, and we even had a killer whale sighting this year. So going in the water is absolutely out of the question, lmfao.
Like this looks straight out of Jaws…

@WhiteSteve Oh, SH*T!!
Awesome, I agree! Huge fan here too. I have a list of parks I have been to but want to go back again, and a bucket list of parks I still need to get to. I need to find a way to check out Badlands and Big Bend
The only national parks I regularly visit are Castillos de San Marcos in St. Augustine and the Timucuan Ecological and Historical Preserve in Jacksonville. I love both of them.
I do! I’ve been to Badlands and Gateway Arch. I’d love to see Yellowstone, Grand Tetons. Would love to see all of them over my lifetime.
I've been to Yellowstone. It's pretty cool.
They've had some crazy flooding up there recently, though.
I've also been to Acadia, Shenandoah, Everglades, Arches, Mt. Rainier, Olympic, Crater Lake, Grand Tetons, and Badlands.
There are many that I still want to go to, but I don't want to list them here.
I'd like to get back to Yellowstone, Grand Teton and Glacier. Haven't been since I was about 21.
I'd also like to backpack in North Cascades. I've only seen it from the road.
Hmm, but all 4 of those places have grizzlies...
I think Teddy Roosevelt really did us all a big favor by making the National Park system. I would like to go to Yellowstone, and the Assateague National Seashore. There are wild horses.
I love national parks. I'd like to visit Yellowstone and Arches next.
We don't have much for tourists but godamn do we have some beautiful parks
Nice, nice. I want to definitely visit Yellowstone and Yosemite.
Yellowstone is amazing, but cold. It also always smells like sulfur. I was there in late July and early August and it snowed August 1.
I love them I go up in Wyoming to the national parks
