Which US state would you LEAST want to go to on a vacation?

Time of year matters, but if anything goes, then I'd say most states that sit between the two mountain ranges (with the exceptions of Texas and Missouri mainly due to family connections) would be near the bottom, along with Oregon, and every state in the northeast: southwest of New Hampshire and north of Virginia, to also include Ohio, which would probably be at the absolute bottom of the list.
Alaska or Utah would probably rank the highest for me, followed by Tennessee.
Even though it's not making the list of ones I wouldn't want to go to, Hawaii earns the "most overrated vacation state" award. The only thing Hawaii has that stands out are its golf courses, but there's plenty of that elsewhere. I don't often give California praise, but it's still a good vacation state as long as you avoid the big cities (which is generally my advice/opinion regardless of state anyway).
I never really thought about it before, but now that you mentioned it, I think Indiana. The only thing I'd like to visit there are the Indiana Dunes, and if I'm completely honest, I don't even know what else there is to see there, besides the speedway, which I have no interest in.
I think so far Indiana is the number 1 mentioned. I've had family that lived there. Very green, can't say I loved or hated the place on visit, just meh.
Yeah, I'm noticing that. Indiana is a popular one.
Maybe it's green, but isn't it almost all fields
California. Its too far away and nothing there I care to see. Tbh, i only care for the states of Georgia, Florida, Nevada, Mississippi, North Carolina, Texas, New York, Colorado, and Tennessee. I’d be okay never visiting any of the other states ever/again.
Actually I’d keep New Jersey for Atlantic City
That's tough but alaska. Most dangerous state for women and nothing unique to it for me to enjoy that I can't do safer in other states.

Toss up, I used to live in Kansas and Missouri... so I definitely never would vacation there. Hell I never wanted to live there. Oklahoma, Mississippi, Arkansas, Nebraska are very low on the list as well
But the one state I have zero interest in is Iowa I would say absolutely not Iowa. I have just known enough folks from Iowa and the state literally has nothing of interest for me.
Ouch, that last sentence hurt lol. But no, you're right. Iowa is not a vacation state for any reason.
@SecretsofKB well if it makes you feel better I have zero interest im Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina... but I have been to them and at least they have beaches.
Iwoa is just one state I never been and would honestly drive-thru probably some day just say I have been there, but there's not much there. Once every four years we pretend that we care about it... lol
MS is just a place to go if you're looking to retire or gamble without going to Vegas/Atlantic City
I will answer the opposite
The states I'd like to visit on a vacation are: California, Colorado, Louisiana, Florida, New York, Washington, Hawaii and Alaska
Now that I think about it, there's nice areas in every state to go to, even in the shittiest states to live in like NY, CA, WA, HI, OR, Maryland and MA but the one I think I'd have the least amount of fun in is Rhode Island.
Everything is filthy and expensive, regressives (AKA liberals) everywhere, the beaches are disgusting and filled with fecal matter and toxic chemical waste, roads are barely drivable, wildlife is near non existent and there's not much to do at all
Oklahoma, Louisiana, The entire north east (it’s just a cluster fuck of shady cities) either one of the Dakota’s 🙄 , Kansas , Utah , and Nevada honestly Nevada is the worst state in my opinion Las Vegas is the only thing saving it but outside of that the entire state fucking sucks
California. Easily. Zero thoughts given. Second, maybe Delaware.
California... they have so many laws, I'd probably be a criminal simply being there as me... without doing anything.
I don’t know. There are good and bad parts to everything.
There are several states in the USA which are boring and uninteresting. I call a tie between West Virgina and Delaware.
I've been to 43/50. North Dakota is one of my last 7 and I'm pretty sure that's one where I'll just drive 10 feet into it and turn around.
North Dakota in Feb is brutal too, that was crazy cold.
One of the southern states in the Bible belt. You know all those conservative Republicans with the family values and high pregnancy rates high dropout rates high poverty rates. Like Kentucky, Tennessee etc
But not everyone in the south is poor, HS dropouts, teen parents, and affiliated with politics
People say California and I don't blame them, but it's still one of the most beautiful places in the world and a fun place to visit. Just not to live
Hawaii and Alaska are excluded from the map because no one in their right mind would select them as the least likely.
lol at people putting Alaska, it's one of the best states for vacation during the summer time. Late June to early where it can be up to 22 hours of daylight is the greatest.
Probably Alaska. Not much to do there unless I wanna go on a risky solo adventure or something.
South Carolina. Very hot and humid in the summer months. However, Charleston is my favorite city to visit!
Nothing personal, but there's not much to see or do in Delaware.
California. Though Illinois Washington Oregon and Minnesota certainly earned their honorable mentions.
Utah, Kentucky, and Tennessee are the only ones that come to mind.
Oh yeah, and New Jersey.
Illinois and that's because I live in this shit hole. By the way there's nothing wrong with Indiana
There's shit to do in Indianapolis, yes Illinois sucks and I have a E-ZPass as well
Probably Nebraska. Love the people, but there just isn't anything there.
texas i've been told is hot and humid and it floods also hurricanes and tornadoes. I guess there's a good time to visit but i don't know anyway that's my pick
California, hands down. New York would be runner up on that list.
Oklahoma
Arkansas
Kansas
Idaho
Indiana
Missouri
Kentucky
Wisconsin
Montana. It's so cold and remote there. No really big monuments or attractions. The only Montana has is a nice view of the Rocky's but I just go to Colorado if I want to see the Rocky mountains.
Jesus I don't know. Most of them are shitholes aren't they? Probably Texas because only steers and queers come from Texas. And Ted Cruz doesn't look like a steer to me.
not really sure i think they all have something to offer. maybe Illiniois cause it includes city of chicago which i'd not want to go to
No shade to anyone from there, but North Dakota.
Probably Kansas, because when I was on the interstate traveling through there, all I saw was sunflower fields.
Same here. They're pretty, though!
Illinois, Idaho, Arkansas, Michigan are some that don’t have anything interesting to me
I could go anywhere state wise it’s the cities you got to watch out for
Mississippi. Full of racist redneck white trash.
Every state has great things to see and do.
any that has a recent temp over 65 degrees. I want to cool off not get hotter...
California, new York, Illinois, any liberal runn hell hole.
New York California
California is a joke. I’m not spending 10,000 to go to a stressful and expensive Peoples Republic of California. I’ll take 50,000 spend 2000.00 to get to Krabi or Chaingmai Thailand and put down 40,000 down on a 80,000 2200-2400 sqft terra cotta roof home…in Paradise.-Where 3.2 baht to USD.
300 feet clear to the sand floor with mountains in the water where one can canoe and see animals that are supposedly extinct. For what it cost to go and function in California one can go to Thailand for a month.
Arkansas or Mississippi..
Alabama, Mississippi, Wyoming, Michigan.
Probably Mississippi or Louisiana.
Have you been to NOLA? It's like impossible to have a crap time.
I've never had a drink in my life, but I still have a great time with friends when I go. I only claim NOLA, but driving through the rest...I wouldn't get out.
New Jersey - the armpit of the North
Alabama or Mississippi.
yep. that's what I was thinking. Also, Kansas seems like it would be boring. But Alabama seems outright hot, hostile, and impoverished.
New York and California
Cali is a big no from me.
i'll be avoiding Oklahoma most
I went to Oklahoma once for vacation with my parents who were only going to see the Oklahoma city bombing site memorial (I mean, really, that was 'the highlight'). There was nothing there of any note, I ended up full on passing out from the heat and nearly cracking my head on the pavement if my dad hadn't caught me. That about sums it up. Avoid.
Arizona. Way too hot.
Go to Central or Northern Arizona in November, it's very nice
Probably all of them
Iowa, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri.
Cleveland Ohio New Jersey
Florida.
Texas, Florida, Arkansas, (and RED STATE)
California.
Probably Kansas.
Washington it rains a lot there
I love the rain, but I also need Vitamin D. I guess it rains everywhere.
Michigan
Any reasons?
@HippieVeganJewslim Too many hippies and too many vegans, not enough Jews.
Vegans and hippies ain’t a bad thing. Vegans want non-violence to animals and hippies want peace. Is it also due to the large population of Islam? Are You Jewish?
Utah
Minnesota and Utah
Hawaii.
New Jersey
CA for sure
Illinois
Illinois
