What are your thoughts on this Australian guy braving it? Why did it look like the Kangaroo was just hugging his dog? How did this guy actually win?

I’ve heard that Kangaroos are no joke and they can be pretty dangerous. Especially if you’re in a fight with one.

But for some reason they still look really cute like these giant soft-furred, soft face, huggable teddy bears.

Either way I can’t understand why the guy jumped in the fight. I’d be afraid to because one jump kick from them would send you hard to the ground.

He could’ve fired a gun of course as well, because his group went hunting.

But for some reason I almost feel kind of bad for the Kangaroo.

I mean it got punched in the face pretty hard and it didn’t even appear to be doing anything wrong.

But perhaps maybe the Kangaroo was trying to strangle his dog and the vest it was wearing protected it.

Kangaroos are very capable of killing a human being from their powerful kicks and they have done so. Red kangaroos are the biggest and they can stand over 6 foot tall. The guy punched the kangaroo because the kangaroo had attacked his dog. Well in the kangaroos defence the dog did get too close so the owner should never have allowed his dog to approach the kangaroo. The reasons for why he couldn't shoot the kangaroo is because he would have been in trouble with the law as you can't go around shooting them. There are strict rules regarding hunting here and hunting or killing kangaroos in some states in Australia is illegal.

It just didn’t look like the kangaroo was attacking his dog tho. It just looked like it was being possessive

No at one point the kangaroo had a hold of the dog above the ground.

Like if the thing was literally beating his dog, I’d understand but I felt as though he could’ve tried defusing things instead of putting himself in danger

I have no idea what was going through the guys mind thinking it was a good idea to do what he did as Kangaroos are a lot more stronger than humans but I know he and his mates were on the trip as their friend was dying so I don't know if emotions partly got in the way when he decided to punch the kangaroo but I do know he did receive some backlash because of it and I did hear the rspca also investigated what happened. But I'm not 100% about the rspca

It had its claws on the dog itself. Kangaroos don't just kick, they can cut you up too. Which is why the guy did what he did. He drew its attention to allow his dog to get free and upon getting the kangaroo to focus on him as the threat he punched it and it was enough to make it back off.

Kangaroos square up and will engage a perceived threat. Typically if you don't bother them, they won't bother you.

Ok, let me ask you this. Where are the claws at when something is getting strangled? If you watch it the kangaroo has it in place, the claws are fully capable of pulling the dig open and severely injuring it.

I think kangaroos and some of the other creatures indigenous to Australia are very interesting. I remember hearing this song in grade school. One of my teachers played it all the time and we used to sing it.
